Dash Gas and Speed Backlights out.

I had a starting problem that required me to replace the battery on my 2002 LS. The light temporally fritzed. After that the backlights on the Gas and Speedometer do not work. Other gages are fine.

What would cause the two gage backlights not to work. Fuses seem to be fine.
