I ran my 2001 2500 suburban with a 8.1 til the gas light came on and went to fill it up and when i started it up the fuel gauge went up and then after 30 sec went to E and the gas light came back on so when you turn it back off and leave it for a min and turn it back on it will go up and come right back down so does anyone have any suggestions on what wrong!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to af. It could be the sender in the take is not reading the level correctly, or you could have a stepper motor going bad in the cluster. If the stepper motor is going bad talk to your local dealer, there is a problem with them and gm and delphi is paying to have the problem ones replaced. I am not sure what years this covers though. Hope this helps.

Thanks for posting but i got it fixed wed the sensor in the take that sends it to everything went bad and just that sensor was 11o.00 so i asked what a fuel pump with it on it would cost and we said 220.00 so i replaced it and it works fine now!!!
