99 INTERMITTENT loss instument control panalmudhen33 11-04-2007, 06:44 PM I have a 1999 Taurus and have a INTERMITTENT LOSS OF INTEGRATED CONTROL PANEL (ICP) ILLUMINATION. I can touch the panel, and the light will go back on. any ideas? shorod 11-04-2007, 06:53 PM I experienced this on my 1998 Taurus SHO. On that one, I pulled the ICP, opened it up, and traced the illumination lines from the control panel to the power supply. Every solder joint I came to, I inspected under magnification and reflowed if they looked the least bit questionable. There were about 3 joints that I reflowed. At least one of those three must have been the problem because for the 2 years following that I owned the SHO, I never had another ICP illumination problem. I don't know who owns the car now, so I don't know if they've had any problems. -Rod worthirt_99 11-05-2007, 05:35 PM if you are wondering, reflow is another word for resolder. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
