Would code 7 cause this?

I have a 88 Civic DX, 1.5L. I was driving the other day, and was going up a rather large hill. All of the sudden, I lost practically all power, and started backfiring. I only made it up going about 10 mph. Then i kept going, and everything was back to normal. Later, went up another big hill, same thing, and then one more time. I looked at my codes, and that is the only code being thrown. Would this cause my problem? The car runs fine other than the 3 times it did that. Thanks.

Absolutely it would. Here use this to test it. You could also have a bad sensor, Which means new throttle body unless your really crafty.

alright, thanks a lot. It hasn't done it again, so I am hoping it was just a hiccup. I haven't checked to see if the code is still showing or not. I'm just hoping for the best, hehe.

It will be there on the ecu for awhile, I think its dependant on how far you drive till it erases. Just go into the fuse box on the right shock tower and pull the 10A hazard fuse for about 10 sec, that will reset it.
