That's it, someone must die!Polygon 11-01-2007, 03:37 AM I think I'm going to snap! Since I've been feeling better I've been driving, just for the sheer joy of it. This includes trying to get someone to race me. It seems to be impossible. I can understand the GTC. Most people think I'm a dumb ass in a LeBaron and don't waste their time, I assume. However, I can't get anyone to bite. Today I tried a Charger R/T, Porsche Boxter, Mustang GT, and even an SRT-4. Not a damn one of them bit, not even the skittle. The only one close was the Stang. I thought he wanted to play cat and mouse on the freeway but I found out he was just being an asshole. Then out of nowhere I find a race, with what looked like a damn VW Fox! He was going slow in the passing lane. I thought a nice big shot of the Stealth in his rear view would persuade him to move. It didn't so I went to pass him, as I did I hear his poor strained engine begin to scream in protest. It made little difference but I gave it a hair more throttle anyhow and made it too 100 almost instantly. He tried to keep up but gave up as he discovered it was futile but I also assume his body panels were about to come apart at that speed. Once I came to my exit he looked over and was sitting like he some kind of player in his glorified Geo Metro. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. This was almost as useless as the Prius I killed shortly after getting the car. What am I doing wrong? How can I get something worth my fuel to race me? Hell, I got more races in my old Eagle vision. :shakehead pimp349 11-01-2007, 12:35 PM There there now Polygon, its ok, it happens to all of us... I also assume his body panels were about to come apart at that speed. You mean like this? click me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RG8gvh-mWtk) Polygon 11-01-2007, 01:06 PM Well, it wouldn't bother me but this has been going on for years! I meant the exterior panels, but you got the idea. Twizted_3KGT 11-01-2007, 01:23 PM People don't want to get embarrassed. Same thing happens to me. No one wants to race, but with previous cars everyone did. vectorspecialist 11-01-2007, 05:33 PM haha, polygon coem to jersey, u'll have everyone wanting to race u. i cant stand driving my stealth half the time. hondas, acuras, and nissans galore. and they all suck(except one guys s2k, he kept up and passed wen my 3rd gear grinded). and if u want a real challenge, tonnes of vettes and porsches(911s, bit better than a boxster). hell just vacation here, and it'll b better than u thought. just dont go to newark or camden. Turbodog97 11-01-2007, 09:37 PM People don't want to get embarrassed. Same thing happens to me. No one wants to race, but with previous cars everyone did. Embarrased? People with worthwhile cars don't even bother when someone tries to initiate something. When people try to act a fool next to me, I just shake my head and keep driving. Save it for the track and save a life. Polygon 11-01-2007, 10:20 PM Embarrased? People with worthwhile cars don't even bother when someone tries to initiate something. When people try to act a fool next to me, I just shake my head and keep driving. Save it for the track and save a life. 1. How would you know if I was "acting the fool" Ludacris? 2. I wasn't. 3. An SRT-4, convertible mustang, and a Charger R/T are NOT what I would call "worthwhile" cars. 4. What are you doing here if you have something against street racing. vectorspecialist 11-01-2007, 10:37 PM o mod vs. mod. could b fun. ne1 got popcorn Twizted_3KGT 11-01-2007, 11:16 PM Embarrased? People with worthwhile cars don't even bother when someone tries to initiate something. When people try to act a fool next to me, I just shake my head and keep driving. Save it for the track and save a life. :shakehead like how i'm doing to your post? I'm with polygon here, "take it to the track" doesn't belong in the street racing section. Also, I don't "act a fool", I meant no one "acts a fool" towards me like they used to. I also agree with exhibit "3.". Raz_Kaz 11-02-2007, 01:58 AM i'm in the same boat. Now that school is back on like donkey kong and the kids are out with their cars....it seems as if no one wants to play. Looks like it's all show and no go around this town pimp349 11-02-2007, 12:25 PM I think it has a lot to do with the fact that many places are getting very strict with street racing in particular. If your speeding, its one thing, if your obviously racing (and lets be honest, cops aren't idiots) then its a whole different ball game. Many spots around me where people used to meet up and race now have become meet places only. Just my :2cents:. Hudson 11-02-2007, 01:26 PM ...This includes trying to get someone to race me....I thought he wanted to play cat and mouse on the freeway but I found out he was just being an asshole. Yes...he was the only one in this scenario. ...I gave it a hair more throttle anyhow and made it too 100 almost instantly. On a public road? See quote above. What am I doing wrong? How can I get something worth my fuel to race me? I'm going to say it....TAKE IT TO A TRACK. SCCA has many organized autocrosses that are legal and fun. Having people defend street racing just seems to prove the lack of intelligence of these drivers. Street racers shouldn't have drivers licenses since they can't be trusted to make intelligent decisions on their own. Just by having a thread with the title "street racing" doesn't make it any less stupid. VR43000GT 11-02-2007, 01:36 PM ^I can see why you guys don't like street racing. Safety concerns for the people who do it and those around them. At the same time, I am not into homosexuality..........it's just me. But instead of going into a gay forum and telling them all my thoughts on homosexuality, I just don't go in the forum. People are going to street race, if you don't like it, then don't bother coming in the threads. Polygon 11-02-2007, 01:58 PM Yes...he was the only one in this scenario. Were you there, no. I said that because, I was going the speed limit, the traffic was clear, he wouldn't bite so I gave up. When we did reached traffic the decided to weave in and out of people like an asshole. I didn't follow. On a public road? See quote above. Once again, don't preach to me when you don't seem to know the situation. We were on the interstate, not a city street. Everyone else was doing 80MPH, except the VW. Good hell, this is the STREET RACING FORUM. If you don't like it go somewhere else. I think that SL3000gt said it best. Also, you people can't tell me that you have never pulled someone on the freeway or raced someone from light to light. I don't take it to the track because: 1. I have been sick for quite some time and unable to go to SCCA events. Now that I'm out of the hospital and able to go SCCA is closed. I still like to run from light to light anyway from time to time. 2. I don't care much for drag racing. Besides our track is a joke and so are most of the people that go there. new2mitsu 11-02-2007, 03:43 PM lol, get out of the damn street racing forum... good god CassiesMan 11-02-2007, 04:01 PM Embarrased? People with worthwhile cars don't even bother when someone tries to initiate something. When people try to act a fool next to me, I just shake my head and keep driving. Save it for the track and save a life. I'm sure Ayrton Senna and Dale Earnhardt would both agree with you that track racing is perfectly safe, and that racing on a track will ensure your safty and prevent you from getting hurt. Oh wait, thats right... vectorspecialist 11-02-2007, 06:22 PM haha, u cant even hang out in one spot long enuf b4 cops come and chase u away. i garuntee wen i get to work 2night half of the parking lot(about 50 cars) will b ricered. and b4 i even start a white or black unmarked srt8 charger cop car will pull up and dismiss them. subieskier 11-02-2007, 10:13 PM So, Polygon, can you ban other moderators from this forum? Polygon 11-02-2007, 10:39 PM Well, this is one of the forums I'm over. . . . . But, in reality, nope. ZRYDERVR4 11-02-2007, 11:43 PM :15millionsign: for sl3000GT and poly!!!! and poly take it to the track ok i'm jokeing:icon16:. but i know what you mean like my friend just bought an sti (2005) and we were looking for some races just driving around and we found a civic and huge body kit and a huge wing. although they at least tried to make it look good i'm sure if they had any fiberglass know how it would have looked ok. But anyways we tried to egg him on by reving, going forwad then back agian and we even opened our window and yelled wanna race you in a joking manner but we ment it. but the guy didn't even try to race us. then we rolled up next to a ws6 firebird and tryed to get the guy to race us but every time we got next to him, he would look away to the right.:shakehead:shakehead vectorspecialist 11-03-2007, 07:48 AM can any mods ban any others, or is it like survivor and they have to b voted on to be banned? i've always wondered that. -The Stig- 11-03-2007, 03:46 PM can any mods ban any others, or is it like survivor and they have to b voted on to be banned? i've always wondered that. We can't ban each other. This thread is done. Thanks for playing everybody. Polygon 11-05-2007, 01:15 PM We can't ban each other. This thread is done. Thanks for playing everybody. Yep, only admins can ban mods. Hudson 11-09-2007, 05:32 PM ^I can see why you guys don't like street racing. The difference is homosexuality isn't bothering you directly. Street racing can kill someone who's not even involved. People are going to street race...and do heroin and go on shooting sprees and become suicide bombers....none of which are intelligent. Once again, don't preach to me when you don't seem to know the situation. I don't think YOU know the situation. Street racing is stupid and puts innocent people at risk. I don't care if street racers kill themselves, it just cleans up the gene pool. It's when they, through their myopic stupidity, harm someone else that it bothers me. Odd, but around here they have winter events through SCCA. And it seems that you don't like drag racing because it's in a controlled environment where you're forced to drive safely and against competitive vehicles. Stop light to stop light is illegal drag racing, so don't say you "don't care much for drag racing." Hudson 11-09-2007, 05:34 PM So, Polygon, can you ban other moderators from this forum? And what have I done that's worthy of banishment? I've called an illegal activity stupid? Really? Polygon 11-10-2007, 02:39 AM Stig closed the thread, you of all people should know that if you wanted to continue this discussion you should have taken it to PMs or started a new thread. The point was that you're in the street racing forum. If you don't like it don't come here. It just seems silly that you come here just to post in my thread of your disdain for street racing. You call me stupid yet you don't know me and I highly doubt you don't ever speed. That is all I was doing, and I never go very far over the limit. There far worse things that people are doing in their cars than what I'm doing. One more post in thread and I'll delete it. If you want to continue this conversation start a new thread or PM me. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
