99 Intrigue - replacing just the mirror glass on the drivers side?rick graves 10-31-2007, 03:36 PM Hi everyone, The drivers side mirror on my daughters car is cracked (just the actual mirror). I can get the mirror glass itself for $19 on e-Bay, and was wondering if this is easier than trying to replace the entire mirror assembly? If so, I'm assuming I just "peel off" the cracked mirror, and then replace with some sort of adhesive? The attached link is for the mirror glass. Any advice on how to do this, or if this makes sense? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mirror-98-99-00-01-02-OLDS-INTRIGUE-Driver-Side-Glass_W0QQitemZ260160221096QQcmdZViewItem Thanks, Rick maxwedge 10-31-2007, 03:41 PM Does it have a heated mirror, if so this will not work. dtownfb 11-01-2007, 09:07 AM I had to replace the driver's side mirror last year and found a used mirror assembly on e-Bay that matched the color of my car. It cost $49 which included shipping. Since you have to change the window regulator, i would do both at the same time since changing the mirror assembly also requires removal of the door panel. rick graves 11-01-2007, 01:06 PM It does have heated mirrors, so I guess I need to buy the entire assembly as suggested? Anyone have a place they would recommend, other than the dealer? Thanks again for all the help ....... Anyone have a place they would recommend, other than the dealer? Thanks again for all the help ....... Rick Hi Rockauto.com has it for $48 plus shipping. They are very reputable and have dealt squarely with me on returns. I highly recommend them. Look under "body exterior" in their catalog. harmankardon35 11-19-2007, 11:20 PM I just fixed a friends passenger side mirror...lol. I used "peel and stick" mirror replacment film....this stuff actually works pretty good. Its a highly reflective material you just cut to shape and stick over the broken glass. I laughed at the idea at first but now i realised how much time and money it saved...It was like...5 bucks? maxwedge 11-20-2007, 04:01 PM Again, this will not work with heated mirrors. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
