1997 Plymouth Voyager Odomoter frozenKrazy Jeff 10-30-2007, 04:16 AM I just recently got this van. Seems like all the indicators in the dash work except for the odometer. It seems to be just stuck. Does anyone know a solution to this? Or point me to a helpful thread? Thanks in advance. (And this is my first post.) :licka: Krazy Jeff 11-01-2007, 01:57 AM Earlier today, while inspecting very well the Fuse & Relay Center, I notice that the positive wire that comes from the battery to the F&S Center was a bit loose. (Red battery wire that you can see below in the picture) I tighten up the positive wire battery clamp and also cleaned out the corroded terminals and posts. http://www.mixingonbeat.com/danceusapro/images/1997_Plymouth_Voyager/engine_driver_side_view.jpg I then went for a cruise today (children trick or treating), and notice that the Trip timer and Odometer was working! Hooray! Could it been the issue with the loose positive wire from the battery that was causing it not to work? Or was it that I had disconnected the battery in order to clean the posts and clamps, that it must have reset itself? I just won't know. I have read that we need to pull out for 20 seconds a relay or fuse called IOD, but can't seem to find it in the Fuse & Relay Center. I guess my little tune-up must have been enough time to reset the odometer issue? Maybe? Could you possibly help me locate the IOD fuse or relay they talk about in this thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=427728) by looking at the picture below? http://mixingonbeat.com/danceusapro/images/1997_Plymouth_Voyager/odometer/110107019.jpg My new question is does this frequently happen with these electronic odometers? That we need to keep resetting it in order for them to work? Thanks in advance! :smokin: vipergg 11-01-2007, 08:39 PM Earlier today, while inspecting very well the Fuse & Relay Center, I notice that the positive wire that comes from the battery to the F&S Center was a bit loose. Thanks in advance! :smokin: Well , probably pulling the power reset the BCM which controls all that stuff and certainly this era van was very susceptible to poor grounds and power connections . It could happen again or it may never happen again if you keep the inside of the battery terminals clean and shiney along with the battery posts themselves. I had it happen once in my 96 and it never happened again after that . Look at the cover they are all labeled their and it is on there , just off the top of my head looking at your picture I think it is the little red fuse at the very lower bottom right of the fuse box , check with the cover it is labeled there. Krazy Jeff 11-02-2007, 12:35 AM Thanks, after investigating it a bit more further, yes, you are absolutely correct with your assumption. That little red fuse is the IOD fuse. (see attached picture below-red arrow points to the fuse) http://mixingonbeat.com/danceusapro/images/1997_Plymouth_Voyager/odometer/relay_fusion_center.jpg vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
