i've been waiting to see the day honda actually acknowledges customized cars. if any of you have been watching tv lately, you might have seen the 2k3 civic commercial. they drive around in their stock 2k3 civic and they pass all these ricers who all follow them. and by the end of the commercial the new civic is leading a huge group of customized civics. then the words 'civic nation' come on the screen. even though i think half the cars in the commercial are rice, it was a cool idea. just wondering how any of you reacted to it...

I saw that commercial at honda school, before it came out...its fucking sweet...

i think the commercial is pretty phat... i wasnt too sure it was real the first time i saw it one tv... but then i was able to get the commercial... granted, there are some rice in it, but thats unavoidable... its pretty crazy to see that honda recognizes that their civic is pretty much the most heavily modified vehicle on the market... i hope this is a sign that certain customizations should be put under warranty... but i doubt it... i'd love to see the day when mugen comes state-side along with spoon and is under honda warranty....

anybody know where i can find that video online? i have been looking online and cant find it. i dont watch tv all that much so i doubt that i will see it on tv. it sounds cool as $hit!

went home for lunch today and searched kazaa along with the net for about 30 minutes with no luck :mad: , oh well, maybe i will just set my vcr up to record the tv while im at work or something.

HAS ANYONE SEEN THAT SPRITE COMMERCIAL??? its some chick racing a 6th gen. civic hatchback on the strip. its aaallllllllll riced out, looks bad ass though and she is beating all of the other cars, pretty cool commercial.

The "civic nation" commercial is tight as hell. At first I thought it was a commercial for FNF2! After I saw the words "civic nation," "represent," and the Honda emblem come up, I was like hmm..... pretty nice marketing job!

just saw the commercial, thats really sweet. but i dont understand the whole rice thing people talk about. the majority of civics in there actually had purely show quality parts or actual conversions done, and good bodywork and paint. i didnt see any crap civics in the group. id like do hear peoples definitions of rice b4 they say the word. to me rice is someone halfassing a car. not puttin that much effort into there ride and just makin it wack, no class at all.

btw commercial is awesome. i liked it alot. wish there was more hatches in there ;)

i said the cars were rice. not ALL of them are, because there are some badass civics in there. however, if you watch the video, the first thing you see is a neon green civic with chrome rims and neon underglow. that's my idea of rice...

look at your mods compared to that green civic and then tell me whos rice goddamnit, tell me which of your mods helps performance huh?! maybe rice is the term for ignorant people who talk about other people cars?!?!?!

i don't know where the hell that came from. anyways, you're obviously new here because the originial members (and yes i mean PH :D) of this forum often asked me about performance mods. i am 17 years old and that means i can't claim ownership of the car. i also do not have $10,000 to go a buy a civic. my dad owns my car because he bought it for me. thsi is the same reason i drive an auto and not a manual. dad said no. although i dont agree, like i said, he did buy the car. he is very strict on the mods i put on my car. i've gotten away with most of them so far, but the general rule is nothing under the hood. if it were my choice, id have a hatchback and i would go completely jdm. but i can't do that. i totally agree that commercial is fuckin awesome. however im just not a fan of neon lights and there is a good deal of neon lights in the commercial. maybe i'm too picky but i don't like some of the cars in the commercial. then again, i don't like half the civics i see on the road...

all the more reason not to make fun of someones car....... it just angers me to hear someone put down another persons car, any mod takes time and undercarriage lights sure isn't the easiest

anyways, we are both right. i agree that everyone is entitled to customize their car HOWEVER they want. if you remember the post 'whats wrong with hondas', i stated my idea of rice but at the very end i said "it's your car..do what you want". you are right that i shouldnt hold my views upon other people for their taste.

HOWEVER, i am entitled to my own criticism. if i dont like something on a car, i can voice my opinion. the truth is, if you really like your car for what you got, it wouldnt make a difference. i think the word rice gets thrown around too much. so let me restate to not offend anyone...
