Muffler for 01 SEovp0 10-28-2007, 01:37 AM Any suggestions on a muffler for an 01 Taurus SE. My muffler developed a leak and the pipes are like new. I am having a hard time locating a muffler to fit as the original does and don't want to pay the $425 for one from ford. I found a Walker on the web that fits like the original but can't find a retail dealer in Canada or US. mwt47 10-28-2007, 10:21 AM Any muffler shop should be able to put a turbo muffler on for around 50 bucks Mike :smokin: UsedtobeSmart 10-28-2007, 02:33 PM Have you looked on www.partsamerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com) to see what they have to offer? The muffler for mine is like $30 and for that I'll eat the $50 or whatever it is cost to have it welded on and some pipe cut to fit. Here's what it'll fit for the '01 Taurus-- 2001 FORD TAURUS http://www.partsamerica.com/images/spaclear.gif http://www.partsamerica.com/images/spaclear.gif http://www.partsamerica.com/images/spaclear.gif http://www.partsamerica.com/images/spaclear.gif V6 3.0 Liter FI - 182 CID VIN 2 http://www.partsamerica.com/images/spaclear.gif V6 3.0 Liter FI - 182 CID VIN U http://www.partsamerica.com/images/spaclear.gif V6 3.0 Liter FI - 182 CID VIN S Here's the link to the muffler -- http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=MAR&MfrPartNumber=158594&PartType=15&PTSet=A If that doesn't work, just fill in the info for your Taurus and see what comes up. Good luck! worthirt_99 10-29-2007, 02:47 AM Speaking of mufflers... Does the 05 taurus with the Vulcun motor use a 2 1/4" pipe? I was going to put a high flow cat and a different muffler on mine, but wasn't sure of the size that I need. It looks like the muffler is a 2 1/4 I/O offset inlet/offset outlet muff, but I wasn't sure. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
