Have a Plymouth Grand Voyager with a 3.3l engine, 4 speed transmission. Have replaced fluide/filter, proper fluide was used. Replaced the solenoid valve assembly, replaced transmission control computer, located in the air intake plenium. Removed water from solenoid valve assembly plug and put electrical grease in it to control moisture. Replaced vehicle battery. Vehicle starts out fine drives for about 300 yards, transmission will start to slip, pull over place in park turn engine off, restart, runs fine for about 300 yards, pull over, turn off-restart-runs fine, ect, ect. Any ideas?

IS the trans actually slipping or is it going into the LIMP MODE and making you think it is slipping?? Also you state that the transmission control computer, located in the intake plenium was replaced, I am not sure what part you are speaking of. The Transmission Control Module I am aware of is located on the firewall on the passenger side. (Check the electrical connector to the TCM for looseness and remove to check for any corrission on contacts. You may want to change the input and output sensors (replace input sensor first)

Have you checked the PCM for any trouble codes on engine?

Check this link for input sensor location: http://www.robskorner.org/faqs/Trans/a604trans33.html

Describe the symtoms of slipping and hopefully we can help you more to get this solved.

Hope this helps

I spoke in error, the computer located in the air plenium behind the battery was replaced but it is Not the transmission computer. The van definetly slips, there is no forward motion at all just an increase in engine rpm, in limp mode I should at least be able to "limp" home, not in my case it just sit's there. The codes that are stored are 12, 14. I even ran a seperate ground cable to the transmission housing as was suggested in some previous posts

How many miles on the transmission? When you restart and take off does it shift thru all the gears properly or doees it get to a certain gear and begin to slip? To me it seems to be electrical problem. I would check all electrical connections to TCM, input and output sensors.

I have a 93 Voyager that would have a delayed shift into reverse or drive, when driving it woukld go into limp mode only. I warmed up trans thoroughly and added some SEAFOAM TRansmission additive to it, let it circulate with the transmission in reverse holding brake for about 5 minutes and drove. It has operated properly since. This may be something you may want to try, about $7.00 for a pint at parts stores.

Yoou may need to get transmission codes read.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Have both input and output sensor on order will be here in the AM, will install one at a time and test. Seems to me to be electrical also, will look into the seafoam. Thanks for your time. Will post tomorrow with update.
