I have a 99 Duratec that the low coolant sensor light comes on. I am sure its the sensor, as the coolant level is good. My question is where is it located?

Thanks
Steve

It is located in the degasser tank. That is the tank that holds yours coolant.

It is built into the tank and is not replaceable. You have to replace the whole tank.

If you buy a new tank buy one from the dealer. They have upgraded the tanks because they were prone to cracking. The upgraded tanks are all white and do not have a black top.

Back to the sensor.

You can unplug the sensor and the light will go off.

You can pull the tank and flush the hell out of it and shake it for a while and the sensor may start working again. Sometimes they do sometimes they don't

Most people just unplug it.

Thanks for the info Mike. Know I know why when I go to the junk yard I never see a coolant tank.

Thanks,
Steven
