It has been a while since I have read about this but I believe people have gone upwards of 700hp on stock internals. It may be much more than that now, IDK. I would reccomend changing out some internals before trying to get that much power out of them.

im just looking to hit about 300-350awhp, anyprobs with the internals to hit that goal? other than clutch?

If it is a proper setup with all the supporting mods, shouldn't be a problem.

That's cake for the stock internals. The crank is indestructible (985awhp so far), rods are reliable 'till around 600awhp iirc, pistons as well. Just worry about the fuel.

Yeah the all famous matt monet of dynamic racing ran in the 9s with hella horsys to back it up on stock bottem end (pistons rods crank) its honestly all about the tune.. cause if you set up and running with knock constently it doesn't matter if you have forged internals or not your eventualy going to fuck your shit up.. now the forged internals can take a little bit more of a beating so if your tune gets fed up for a second and you start backfireing or somthing you have a better chance that you didnt blow you engine

anyway if your only going tof 350 or so then I wouldn't worry about internals at all right now.. if is on your mind think about it this way.. save your money untill you blow your working motor.. haha

so what are your plans for the build? what mods do you already have?

Yeah I would just highly reccomend with any mods you do to have the car tuned properly with a SAFC, stand alone, or what ever you would prefer, take it to a performance shop and have it dyno tuned if you can, or dont feel safe tuning it yourself. As long as you supply sufficient fuel with higher boost you will be fine. Especially since you plan on staying under 500 HP, only worries are your transmission and cops....

P.S. I've seen a Eclipse GS with aftermarket GST turbo boosting 4 lbs of boost but ended up having a nasty rod knock just because his car wasn't properly tuned. It can be as simple as a bad FPR will rain on your parade.... runaround

well as of now my only mods are mbc at about 14psi and an intake. i look to buy a palm pilot and wires for datalogging and then a fuel pump and tune. how much hp can the stock injectors push if i have a new fuel pump? then turn up the boost on the stock turbos more untill i can afford 13g or 15g turbos. i just wanna get into the 11's or 12's. also in the future i look to get some ehaust work done, not quite sure what tho, as far as staying stock catback and doing headers and precat stuff or stock headers and precat and new catback. any sugestions? also stuff that i can do on my own bc i dont pay ppl to work on my car:nono: . whats the limit on the stock turbos? ik they can boost high but wont hold to much but whats the max they can run?

as far as transmission what do i need to watch? ive had the recall done on the transfercase, so would i just need a new clutch? what is the max the stock clutch can handle at the wheels? ik its limited to like 400hp but i wasnt sure if thats at the crank or wheels. thanks for the help every one.

you're injectors honestly cant handle much more than the stock injectors can

Get a datalogger ASAP. Its a BAD idea to go turning up the boost with no way to monitor if you are getting knock.

isn't there a knock sensor already in the vr-4?

There is, but the ECU can only retard timing to save the engine to a certain point.
