A stock YZ80 is definately not going to go 70-90mph. Even with gearing, power is a problem. I am no expert on top speeds but I would say 35-45mph.

Actually the YZ85 with stock gearing will do over 60 mph plus. When I was training my son for MX racing and trailing him with a 4X4 Chevy Blazer down a dirt road with bumps I saw range of 60-65 for sure. It will haul ass. Just hold on when the power band kicks in. :grinyes:

Yeah SL but IMO it has no real low end per se. And that power band will catch you off guard. His uncle (brother in law) found out the hard way. He was a street bike rider (Harley) and decided to get wild with the throttle just to test it out one day. Flew out from underneath him and knocked him right on his rear end and back...ouch!!! :lol:

I've ridden my sisters Honda CR85 ... punchy little 2 stroker...

Nothing kicks like my YZ250 though... omgwtfbbq. The bike is seriously too fast for my own good.

I like Yamahas. But the YZ250 is too tall for me. :uhoh:.....:lol:
