Messedup painted surface :(Henry_Walker 10-22-2007, 09:19 AM Hi ppl, I am a new-b bought this honda recently but unfortunatly some joker hit my front bumper and totally ruined it. Long story short it required repainting. I used aerosol product from Autotouchup... here is what I did... Little bit of grit-180 Lots of grit-320 2 coats bull dog adhesion promoter 3 thin coats of grey primer 3 thin coats of paint And then murphy's law kicked in... I was all happy with the result so far but when I went ahead and sprayed the 4th coat of the paint I realized I had the primer in my hand instead of a paint. But realization came a little late because I was using grey primer on silver paint. Is there any hope left for me or should I do it all over again... I know for sure that there are three good coats of paint below that primer... Should I sand it or use rubbing compound or do something else... Thanks in advance Paintin'nAZ 11-02-2007, 07:30 PM sand it assuming it been dry for at least a couple hours and spray some more paint sirdanielot 11-29-2007, 12:06 AM Paintin'AZ is right; sanding it is the best way to go, but make sure to use a finer grit when sanding down the primer (e.g. 400-500). Also one more thin coat of paint would be ideal. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
