Front End Problemsgtmay 10-20-2007, 01:38 PM I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with 127000 miles on it. When I turn the wheel to the left at slow speeds, it feels like the tire is wobbling. It also makes a thumping noise at slow speeds like a belt is broke in the tire. I cannot for the life of me figure out what this is. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks a lot, you guys provide some great info, keep it up. BNaylor 10-20-2007, 01:53 PM I agree best thing to do is a tire rotation before thinking it is other steering and/or suspension components. Also, with over 100K miles the tie rod ends mainly outer are a common problem. A bad tire with a bad belt or lump which should be obvious if you do a close inspection of the tire will cause the thumping sound or a worn out tie rod end to clunk. bjnickol 11-15-2007, 11:05 AM hey gtmay, I have a similar problem with a 97 Grand Prix. Did you ever find out what was causing your problem with the wheel ("When I turn the wheel to the left at slow speeds, it feels like the tire is wobbling.") If so please let me know what you found out! Thanks!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
