1988 Gtatimmay334 10-19-2007, 09:05 AM Hi there. I recently came across a 1988 Trans Am GTA for sale. I have always wanted this car and I'm considering purchasing it. The Ad says that it's a california car or it came from california. Is this a bad thing? I've read in a couple books that in the muscle car era, california cars would have decreased HP due to stricter emmisions laws. Is this true? Also would you think this car is a good price (I will post the link.)? Any of your help would be greatly appreciated. |Here's the link http://www.usedwinnipeg.com/classified-ad/4082621&category=specialty-antique-collector-cars -Timmy MrPbody 10-22-2007, 08:46 AM Timmy, By '88, emmissions standards were pretty much the same throughout the country. There may be some subtle differences, but nothing like the '70s stuff. An '88 is a good car for performance. Not much on quality of construction (all 3rd gens).
