Poor Headlightsdylanr91 10-14-2007, 02:36 AM Hi, I have a 93 Grand Cherokee with a dull headlight problem. The light output is horrible! Cannot see a thing on the highway! I have tried multiple bulbs like Nighthawk, Silverstar but have same issue. Purchased new headlight plastic assembly but still poor quality. Is it still bad bulbs or what? Thanks Bob D. 10-14-2007, 06:25 AM Did you get new reflectors and lenses? If those are ok, I would check for a voltage drop at the harness/ connector due to a bad ground. cmhj2000 10-14-2007, 08:07 AM Had a 93 grand with the same problem. Found out it was bad grounds. cavabc 11-18-2007, 01:26 AM ive got a '93 grand cherokee also..and yes i have the same problem...i changed the bulbs and the whole headlight assembly...it made a bit of a difference, but honestly i think it might just be a total design flaw...they just suck! AndyLET 03-21-2008, 10:26 AM HI... if all wires are great, good ground etc.. you can replace your headlights with this: http://item.express.ebay.com/93-97-JEEP-GRAND-CHEROKEE-HEAD-LIGHTS-CORNER-BUMPER-SET_W0QQitemZ150226985943QQihZ005QQcmdZExpressItem and use some "xenon white" bulbs. This will make a real great headlight. dksob81 03-21-2008, 07:39 PM If you want better lighting you need to get yourself a set of HID's you cannot beat the lighting output of these. but I would be careful as to what size you get, you may get pulled over depends on your state laws. I have 20,000K and they are very BLUUUEEEEE, I have had them in for a little over a year and have not gotten pulled over with them yet. When I bought them I was under the impression they higher the kelvin rating the brighter but apparently that is not so true. I have read many places that says the kelvin rating is just the color (or depth of color) and that you actually lose brightness the higher the kelvin rating you get. But I know thats not true because a friend has the 10,000K which are blue as well but not as dark and they don't shine as bright as mine, youc an tell the difference but even with his they are very bright. He also has the standard lenses where as I have the CRYSTAL CLEAR LENSES like AndyLET mentions. If I were to get new ones I would proabably get an 8,000 (violet) or 10,000K (light blue) they are not as noticable and look more like a factory HID in a cadillac or BMW woudl look like, I still worry about going driving through some little hicktown and getting pulled over, the package says for OFFROAD USE ONLY....lol, but I have passed many police and state police in Pennsylvania and Ohio and no problems thus far. but If you want better lighting HID's are the way to go youw on't regret it I guarentee it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
