Hey all,

00' X is my first car, today I had the chance to rip apart the doors and explore.

I'm going to be buying a set of speakers, the current ones have been through abuse (the car had "WOW: Gospel Edition" in the cd deck when I bought it).

What are the sizes of the front and rear panel speakers? What should I be looking to buy?

I'm going to be buying a new cd player to match the new speakers as well (and I can't take the ipod tape deck anymore), I heard some people were having trouble getting theirs to fit, what besides the deck do I need to buy? Is it simple enough to install myself?

What I am looking to buy:

I live near a flee market that sells sets of car speakers for $20 a set, should I trust them (the allow you to test them before paying)?

If I listen to mostly rock is it worth it to get a bass box?

Do I need an amp?

Thanks for all your help in advanced. I know I have a lot of questions but I haven't dealt with car audio before, in home is much simpler . I would love recomendations of products as well, keep in mind I'm on a budget!

Thanks again!

The front 6.5inch speakers the rear are 6x9's . I recommend going to .
www.crutchfield.com

They have a lot of great brands. I would get a high power deck and JL audio speakers. They have special speakers with Japenese vehicle hole configurations.

I have a JL audio stealthbox which is a subwoofer they make specifically for 2000-2004 Nissan Xterra. It does take up space but I think it makes the music far better. The subwoofer is also protected. I scuba dive and fly fish and I can still throw all of my gear in the back without any problems.

I hope this helps you . Good luck
