I have a 95 silverado w/ 350 tbi. The truck starts right up and runs great for about 5 minutes. after 5 min. or so it stalls out and smells like gas. then it wont start and just floods the engine. after 30 minutes or so it will start back up and do the same thing over. I just replaced the disributor cap, rotor, plugs, and wires.

The engine coolant temp sensor may be bad causing it to run very rich.

The other thing to check is the map sensor and vacuum line to it.

You may also want to have the ignition module checked, the injectors get there trigger from it.

If the engine coolant temp sensor would be bad wouldn't it cause the temp. guage to be off?

Glad that was the fix (and an easy one too). If your gauge is off, the sensor for the gauge is in the driver's side cylinder head between 1 and 3. Or the gauge itself is bad.
