Hissing noise from tranny..

I want to thank all of you for the help provided over the years!!!
My 99 Amigo V6 4X4 has a hissing noise coming from the tranny when the car is run for a long time. I recently had full service done on the transmission and it did not solve the problem. The transmission works fine and shifts smoothly.
The only other issue is sometimes getting it into gear from park, the thumb release will not engage while pushing the brake pedal unless you play with with it for awhile and I think it is getting worse. Is there a release on the shifter if it finally goes bad and leaves me stranded one day?
