a 2000 323i shaky when acceleratingUkrainian 10-07-2007, 02:15 PM hi. Ive got a 2000 bmw 323i. if I slam a gas paddle when on low rpms cars shakes until it passes 2000 rpm point??? what can it be??? how do I fix it? Ukrainian 10-17-2007, 06:57 PM fuel pump? solvman 10-18-2007, 10:06 AM Have you checked fuel preasure regualtor? When did you do last tune up? Plugs and wires? Ukrainian 10-18-2007, 06:12 PM changed spark plugs like 30k ago, cheched them like a week ago, still good and dry. instead of spark slugs they`ve got maintenance free spark coils Ukrainian 10-18-2007, 06:15 PM what kind of tune up are you talking about? i`ve owned it for the last 2 years, and all i did was oil changed and fluids ckecks. where is fuel preasure regualtor located and how do I check it? solvman 10-19-2007, 03:29 PM You need to start with your tune up. Change and change if neccessary your spark plugs, fuel filter and air filter. Then if it does not fix it you need to check your fuel preasure regulator, which is located on the end of the injector line. You will have to remove plastic on top of the engine to get to it. 2 years of only changing oil is not good maintenance, my friend. I bet you anything it needs good tune up first. Best of luck. Ukrainian 10-19-2007, 04:23 PM I totally forgot about that,I did change all of the above(spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter)... Ukrainian 10-19-2007, 04:25 PM tell me more about that fuel pressure regulator.... where exectly is it? left or right plastic? or I have to take both of them off? any pics? how do I check it? solvman 10-19-2007, 08:24 PM Operating range for pressure regulator is 650-800 rpm. Faulty regulator could definitely cause your car to shake on low rpms. Check out this link on how to change pressure regulator: http://www.autorepairforums.net/forums/showthread.php?p=614#post614 Best of luck, Mergiez 10-20-2007, 02:15 AM It might also be loose fuel tank caps. BMW Parts (http://www.replacementbmparts.com/) Ukrainian 10-21-2007, 12:54 PM is there any way to check if fuel pressure regulator is faulty or not? idle rpms are fine, its just when im accelerating hard from low rpms... solvman 10-21-2007, 06:35 PM Do you have your check engine ON? Ukrainian 10-22-2007, 04:42 PM no,I do not solvman 10-22-2007, 05:02 PM There is no testing procedure for the pressure regulator. I'd go ahead and change it first to see if you have any improvements. I personally had problems like this myself, and replacing pressure regulator did make a lot of difference. Ukrainian 10-22-2007, 09:04 PM there is another thing that heppens to my car every now and then. probably like every 20th time I go to start my car,it just wont start from a first try, starter would spin, but thats about it(also my "dashboard" lights dont go on at that time) all I have to do is pull out the key and try again(usualy it starts the second time). so I dont want to change something that might be not needed to be changed and just hope for best. If I cant find out from forums what the problem is, I`ll just take it to the mechanic and let him test it and get it done right the first time. It just drives me up the wall!!!! Im sooooooo close to selling it! solvman 10-22-2007, 10:46 PM If you'd like to ask some questions. Ask me at www.autorepairforums.net. I had a little misunderstading with one of the moderators at this forum. I'm closing my account here. Sorry dude. Best of luck. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
