Ok guys, here in Italy anyone know, since we done announcement over the Milan "Hobby&Model" show. Time to let you know.

The new brand is owned from three fellow modelers: me, Ricky78 that is already member here and I guess will follow this post with kind comments, and Luca Cavicchi, a master that done molds like the X1/9 for IVFactory, the track's Stratos Gr5 for Arena, the Abarth1000, Ascona400 and delta 4WD for GasModels, he dunno know what's a PC so I guess he can't become a member here so quick LOL.

The first model: four versions of the Renault 5 Turbo Maxi Gr.B:

Ragnotti's Philips

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/scuderia_5maxi/Miseajoursite1219.jpg

Chariot's Diac

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/scuderia_5maxi/Chatriot3.jpg

Auriol's 33Export

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/scuderia_5maxi/MAXI-5-Turbo.jpg

and the Carlos Sainz Official car (European Champ.)

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/scuderia_5maxi/Post-7-87271-Immagine.jpg

The model:

- Full detail with openable front and back hoods, full detail engine. Mostly details are in white metals.
- Each version has the correct rims, Renault/Michelin or Gotti/Pirelli kind.
- Decals are printed (ok they're printing..) by Cartograf for the best accuracy .
- The PE sheet is huge and well designed: we'll show also here soon.
- For the first time in a multimedia kit livery colors are provided with the kit: they're awesome Zero's base. Any version has the two colors needed, perfectly matched with the Cartograf colors.

Let me show a primer preview done by my fellow modeler Riccardo a.k.a. Ricky78

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/scuderia_5maxi/Post-7-87317-Chiusa01.jpg

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/scuderia_5maxi/Post-7-87316-Motore02.jpg

And following the decals test: they're proto done with an ALPS system: for sure the white coverage of Cartograf is way better, those that you're used with ;). Be patient since I done all in a couple days before the show, better stuff following. Thre're also few errors, correct before the final screen stuff printing.

More news soon. The models should be ready for sale around december's begin.

We're working on other several models to introduce before Christmas: stay tuned.
Our Site (not store) would be on-line soon.

Oh, wow ! I 'm more than impressed!

The models look superb, very crisp detail from what I can see. Also, great idea of including paint with the models, it's brilliant!

I'm looking forward to seeing more. I 'd love to see the P-E sheet and I 'd like to know how many pieces the model itself is, seems like a big model, full detail, engine, distributors...

A true challenge, but the fact that you already testfitted one means it can be done easily.
PS. Asking price?

Btw, congratulations on the birth of this company! So to see, it looks like we'll hear a lot of it! Auguri !

Thanks Oli, we have a price's idea: should be very competitive for a full detail model, anyway we'll do a official price's announcement when we have all in hand, and cost paid LOL

PS: forgot, we have a kind USA based 007 special agent that will review the model very soon ;)

Nice, did you use the Tamiya Renault 5 body as a base or did you scratch build the whole body?

Wonderful news! Impressive news I'll also say.
The model seems from the pics that is a must for Rally fans and a great oportunity to adventure multimedia virgins like me to finally take the challenge. I'm so very interested on this.
Congrats on this idea and I know that your brand will be a great addition to the hobby.

As a base was used an OOP Modeler's 5, but TBH I'll say that with 250+ working hours over remain really a little of the old simple curbside kit: some mods done:

- body shell is longer, widened, and cutted to allow openable hoods
- front and back bumpers are scratchbuilt
- chassis is 100% scratchbuilt
- engine and mechs 100% scratchbuilt: we was tempted to use heller's stuff but we're more than happy now with the crispy and, overall, correct appeal of our stuff.
- rims (masters) machined

It looks spectacular!

Congratulations on the new venture. It's amazing just to think how much effort has already gone into this project. I admire your courage and ambition, and wish you guys the very best of luck with it. :bigthumb:

So to get it straight, you'll be selling it in four different versions of the kit, each with the correct wheels, markings, and paint?

Stunning- I cannot wait to see it. Looking forward to seeing this review!

You forgot "CHIANTI" and "GNOCCA" (good you can't find any translation for that) almost the only products we're able to export with the miniubucks (and the maxieur), anyway, I'm not a fan of F1 decided with lawyers and box strategies, I guess I'm with you against ferrari;) (this one with no capital F)

Yep, 4 versions with different decals, colors and in two cases rims.

Nice work! But why a Renault 5 rally car when there have already been kits of them over the years?

Good point Veyron!

My friend Ricky is a kind maniac of group B cars and the 5Maxi is one of the few that wasn't done, at least not in a decent, full detail, form. All this despite the 5 have a great story, linked to the awesome Ragnotti's career and the fabulous victories (TdF) without a 4WD system. Also the 5 was extremely important as a "trampoline" for Sainz and Auriol careers.

Like our logo's pay-off said our phylosophy is share with other the kind models we do for ourself, models from modelers (LOL not intentional). Share with others our dreams. may be is not the right way to make money, but it isn't the first job for all of us, just passion.

I guess someone here know how expect from me very soon ;)

... thinking I bought a modeler's R5 Maxi turbo a few months ago... :banghead:

Yours seems to be better than modeler's one, especially with the openable hoods, even if I find the front system very ugly, heavy and too big, I suppose because it was also the case on the real one, I still haven't checked that! :evillol:

anyway your work is incredible and the model seems to be one more to have ! :naughty:
Your engine is wonderfull !! will all connectors and wires also be part opf the kit ??? :grinyes:

you say 4 versions, but is it really 4 versions choice allowed with one unique kit ???
which rally is the DIAC version representing ? 86 Corsica I hope... :icon16:

I am now only affraid by the expected price... :uhoh:

Well what more could I say...
Excellent opportunity to all Gr. B fans to get this wonderfull model !!

I can't wait seeing the next (rally ??) models

Nope: impossible, it mean 8 Zero bottles inside (that you won't pay if you don't use) and spare rims and tyres, spare decals... 4 kits, one for each version.[/quote]

which rally is the DIAC version representing ? 86 Corsica I hope... :icon16:

Sure, Rallye de France.

a sort of related question.
hot did you make the mould for the body?
I've been trying to make a clean negative cast of some body parts using silicone for the past two weekends and both attempts have been less than successful. The best one has lots of bubbles which ultimately has left my resin positives full of bubbles which is a pain to fix.

Are there any secrets beyond getting a pressure pot?

DM, all of us are decent resin caster but we thought to leave the job to pro resin caster: at least we love think the model's solutions, do the protos, design PE and liveryes but be free from ripetitive jobs like cast (well) resin.

On the question: in my jobs I followed the giudes& how-to I found here and on another american forum that you know, I guess. I found no secrets but little attentions: like mix the sylicone gum and the kat without to include air bubbles and let the mixed compound flow from the baker very very slow, to help air bubbles breaking.

I also found helpful do the mould in a unique piece, thinking and doing before all air and resin ducts, and cut the mold later like done by gold/silver's casters. It can't be done ever, depend of the shape, but you save time and achieve a better quality.

last one: like I said you I found much better polyester than polyuretanic resin: a bit harder to work then but it flush much better (less viscosity) so do less bubbles.

DM: little secrets pay 5%, experience 95% ;) everyone fuc##d his first material, before achieve a decent result;)

Hi,

nice to see the Maxi, however, this seems to be an unfinished master.

The engine doesn´t look so great to me, why are there cabels/wires in the mastermodel in primer?

These hinges are a joke to me, they look like transferred from a die-cast. This might be the reason that the cooler isn´t really what it should look like.

gionc
10-06-2007, 04:15 AM
ROFL, you Micha were one of the few fellow modellers we selected to receive a free kit to review, better for us to do a different choice I guess ;)

This is like the IC should be, TBH we do an excellent job on it, scratchbuilt 100%, not die-cat ROFL

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/5engine.jpg

And following the engine's part, something was recasted and improoved (oil filter with PE face)

On the hinges, thanks for the opinion, should be precious for nex issues.

Hello,

I did a advertisement on a french forum... This model got there a real big success and I already have tons of questions to answer an preorder-like to register !!! :grinyes:

I will have to contact you by PM in the coming days to get some answer to relay.

Concerning the kit, I see I am not the only one to be rude with the hinges, but making them tronger than beautifull must be a good reason. :dunno:

Buying one ? Uhhh how not to buy such a dream model...?? :naughty: :evillol:

(well, have to know the prise before... :banghead: )

moreover 4 kits for the 4 versions (logical, as I thought it was, that's why I asked it, contrary would have been very surprising)... So 4 kits to buy ?? :sly: :screwy: :yikes: :icesangel

so, i won't say more here, I keep all questions that were asked to me in a corner of the computer and will relay them by PM soon.

Thanks for your answer and count with me for making ads of this model !

Before all thanks for all the support, I guess me&guys will find the way to thanks ;)

Hinges: TBH I wanted to show the job done, with the PE solution: I'll anticipate now, and show ASA I have PE : I designed a solution with PE hinges just like the thin plates in the real one. The way is intended as optional but obviously you'll find it in the PE sheet. You need just cut out the resin hinges (quick and easy for the way they're designed), make a fold and install the two PE hinges, in this case you need also to cut out resin "false hubs" we used as a turning end for resin hinges and (in the same place) install a little wire-hub. Looks like difficult but it's a kid's joke ;).

Phil please PM me wich forum you meant, the one I know I found nothing ;) (and start with mauuuu like cat's spells LOL)

Hello

And what about the clear parts such as all the lenses.
The Gass ones for the Opel Ascona were not the best I found in a resin kit.
In the first pictures, the lenses for the front side lenses are in resin.
Lenses done by MFH and Modeler's are much better.

Yep I believe MFH are better :D,

They're the best to me now, so we'll try with any effort to offer something not so far to their standard: I believe we're learning a lot and due the "no compromise way" I guess we'll offer soon (if we aren't offering just now, but you'll judge by yourself seeing the FINISHED JOB at naked eye) something excellent. At least this is our mission: we do stuff for ourself, mainly, and then shaing with others.

Lens are ALL in clear resin, also those side lens you seen mounted and primed: we'll have in few days, we had to switch the manufacturer since we wasn't satisfacted with the clear resin quality (and durability).

I'll be with you with the Ascona, but I guess it isn't a responsability of my buddy, he done just what they asked, and in the price's range they offered: some other master's mold , like Arena's stratos or abarth are way better.

Anyway to stay on the topic, any critic would be very well accepted to achieve a better model, for us and our image, and for you customers.

I have a suggestion on one modeler that I think should have the possibility to reviev the kit. He is from sweden and are really great builder and a renault freak he has done several r5 builds both rally and even an imsa variant a very honest and a reanault expert. Jörgen Stendahl is his name

I was going to hold my thoughts on the boot and bonnet hinges until I got the chance to see it all for real (and hopefully some references, too). But hearing that you've included photoetch parts for realistic static hinges also seems like a perfect solution. Well done!

With that level of thought and attention to detail, it's hard to imagine that this kit (and hopefully more to follow) will be anything short of astounding.

A little preview to make you's mouth water ;)

Picts just arrived from my friend Ricky that is the great one that do all check, packing jobs... so if something miss in your stuff kill him LOL

Guys: this is a kid of dream for me: I guess I'm a bit sick but I wanted from the start my decals done by cartograf, like the better bigs. I have to say that the quality, color's overlap and saturation are great. It costed a fortune to us (also becouse the big number of minimum decals to do for each subject) but it worth the money. A little dream switch now in reality. I said, I'm sick LOL.

Unfortunately they printed 1 only logo for all the liveries, so only the one the buy a Sainz car would have a cartograf logo for the stash ROFL. With all those munny I expected at least a dozen logos LOL
