Location of BTSIDivorce Court Dan 10-02-2007, 10:13 PM I replaced the stoplight switch on a 1997 C/K pickup, and now the owner is having a problem getting it out of park. From what I have read here it sounds like the BTSI? Just wondering where it is located and what it looks like. Thanks 777stickman 10-03-2007, 11:13 AM It's located on the right side of the column around the upper support. If it was good before the brake switch replacement it may be that the new switch is not adjusted properly. With the key in run, Tranny in park and brake pedal released there should be 12v coming out of the brake sw on the "dark green w/ white stripe" wire to the BTSI. As the brakes are applied that voltage should drop out to the BTSI and it should happen sooner rather than later in the brake pedal travel. Divorce Court Dan 10-03-2007, 05:50 PM Thanks stickman. I guess he was having the same issue with the old switch as well. I'll perform that test. I've been seeing some conversation on brake light switch adjustment, just wondering how one would adjust it. Thanks 777stickman 10-03-2007, 08:39 PM Dan: Looking at my '98 manual I don't see that there is any adjustment on the switch (that's not saying there isn't one some how). Sorry If I led you in the wrong direction. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
