I used to have an S-10 w. 2.8 engine. It was pretty snappy. I opted for a 2000 w/ a 2.2, took it out for a test drive, and was completely floored by how badly it performed. It was a real dog! It had no pep and took a long time to get up to freeway speed. It felt like a 10,000 lb. truck with a one cylinder engine. Is this normal for the 2.2? Are they all dogs?

They are not to bad, considering it is a 4-banger. The 2.8 being snappy? I think you are the only person I have ever heard say that about the 2.8. One thing I will give the 2.8 though, it was a pretty reliable little engine.
