New owner of 1994 JGC, I need.....HanibalTheCannibal 10-01-2007, 07:59 PM I need to know a few things about these jeeps. I just picked up a 1994 JGC ltd. 5.2, with 65,000 miles. It is kind of messy (senior owned). I was wondering these few things: 1. Should I have a full size spare, or a donut (what came factory)? I have a dinky donut in back which I dont like. 2. Did these jeeps come with R12 refrigerant? My ac works very well, but Iwanted to know for future reference. 3. Where can I get the gas shock supports for the rear hatch? Are they expensive? 4. The back speakers kind of fade in and out when you touch the radio, is this a known issue? Any hints? 5. I need a bunch of odd and end stuff, ie sunvisor holding tabs (tan), door panel clips (the driver door panel seems loose when you grab it), under hood light switch, etc etc any good places to find this stuff? I am no where near a junkyard anymore :( 6. I have the key number (?) in my vehicle owners book, but where can I get a door opener FOB? All I have is a generic key. I would like to be able to pop the door locks, etc. 7. Where can I get a good cargo mat (tan) so when I take trash to the dumpsite I dont get the jeep all nasty. I looked for weathertech but found none for this model year. 8. Can I just pump out transfer case fluid and replace with synthetic? What about the diff fluid? Sorry for being long, but I didnt want to make a bunch if threads about these things. Thanks a whole lot for reading this. Don't know about 94 but my 96 came with full size spare. 2. Did these jeeps come with R12 refrigerant? My ac works very well, but Iwanted to know for future reference. Unless you have guages don't mess with the AC 3. Where can I get the gas shock supports for the rear hatch? Are they expensive? Auto Zone about $10 4. The back speakers kind of fade in and out when you touch the radio, is this a known issue? Any hints? Probably fader pot on stereo. Clean with tuner cleaner. 5. I need a bunch of odd and end stuff, ie sunvisor holding tabs (tan), door panel clips (the driver door panel seems loose when you grab it), under hood light switch, etc etc any good places to find this stuff? I am no where near a junkyard anymore :( Junk yard is the only place to get most of this stuff. 6. I have the key number (?) in my vehicle owners book, but where can I get a door opener FOB? All I have is a generic key. I would like to be able to pop the door locks, etc. You can get one on Ebay. 7. Where can I get a good cargo mat (tan) so when I take trash to the dumpsite I dont get the jeep all nasty. I looked for weathertech but found none for this model year. Try Ebay 8. Can I just pump out transfer case fluid and replace with synthetic? What about the diff fluid? Differential fluid is fairly easy. TC nut very hard to get off I'd take it to Jiffy Lube for that. Sorry for being long, but I didnt want to make a bunch if threads about these things. Thanks a whole lot for reading this. Han Good luck. dksob81 10-08-2007, 07:36 PM I need to know a few things about these jeeps. I just picked up a 1994 JGC ltd. 5.2, with 65,000 miles. It is kind of messy (senior owned). R134a 3). autozone sells them about $13 each. 4). prolly a bad head unit. I would suggest getting an aftermarket deck. 5). I dunno about the sunvisor clip, but the door panel clips you will probably only be able to find the right ones at the dealer but they are expensive. 6). Try ebay, they have them on there all the time. 7). Husky liner makes a cargo mat that is a direct fit for the cargo area with walls on the side to keep mud and water in. check it out here... http://www.autoanything.com/floor-mats/64A1456A0A0A.aspx 8). The Tranfer Case has a drain plug. The differentials you will need to pump them out (you will not get all the old fluid out this way tho) but I suggest removing the cover and draining it. HanibalTheCannibal 10-08-2007, 08:51 PM Hey thanks a bunch for replying, can you help me? I got through a lot of the maintenance stuff. So far I have: 1. changed both differentials to synthetic 2. changed trans fluid to atf+4, new filter 3. changed oil to synthetic 4. changed serpentine belt 5. changed muffler, tailpipe 6. changed tcase fluid to atf+4 7. replaced rear hatch supports 8. replaced 02 sensor I degreased and rinsed the engine bay and axle areas after all of this and I started to get some check engine light action. Most recently a "27". which I think has to do with the injectors. I did recently fix a wire that looked stripped back and maybe I didnt plug it back in all the way. I also found a small hole in a tiny vacuum line, so I wrapped it in black tape. Why do I get these occasional codes? Should I go ahead and change all accessible sensors? WHat would cause hesitation and stumblig on acceleration? reekor 10-08-2007, 10:15 PM You have a private message!!!!!! Hey thanks a bunch for replying, can you help me?
