Screws and bolts.

I've seen some people use screws and bolts on they're kits to hold the wheels and the brakes together, kinda like the real thing. So I was wondering what the sizes where for the screws and the bolts? I saw them at my local hobby shop and was about to pick some up but didnt know the size. Basically, they're for models in 1/24 scale. I dont build smaller or bigger . . .

screws and bolts for small and some medium trucks are 3/4"-7/8"
screws and bolts for street cars are mostly 1/2"-5/8"-3/4"
so
1/2" / 24 = 0.02083" = 0.052908cm = 0.52908mm
5/8" / 24 = 0.02604" = 0.066141cm = 0.66141mm
3/4" / 24 = 0.03125" = 0.079375cm = 0.79375 mm
7/8" / 24 = 0.03645" = 0.092583cm = 0.92583mm
These are the most common, if you are looking for the sizes for cars like the Enzo, FXX, F1 or whatever you will have to find out the diamiter of the screw/bolt in the 1:1 and /24 for inches; /24*2.54 for cm; /24*25.4 for mm's.

Ha. Woah. I almost got confused there. 2.54 for cm's and 25.4 for mm's. Almost had to re read it like 5 times.

Thanx for the input!

So aren't paper clip wires enough to replicate something so small as 1/24 lugs?

Yea but I can heat some sprue and stretch it to the thicknets of lugs, but people use screws to secure the wheel with the brake rotor.

It all depends on if you actually want it to work or if you just want the look.
I would and will shortly pay a fortune for 4 bolts and knock offs with PE from Acustion for my enzo and Fxx, but I wouldn't pay much for builds where I just want the look, like a S2k or whatever.
Depends on what you want to achieve.

No no no, ofcourse I wan't the function of it! I'm tired of having the wheels come off from the calliper because the glue dried or I didn't put "enough" glue. That way, with the screw holding it in place, It'll be less of a headache. I was just saying that If i wanted to replicate lug nuts, I'd do what I told him I'd do.

If loosing tires is your problem, I would suggest putting some C/A on the male part of your wheel setup just before you push on the wheel for good. That's what I do.
Kids, earthquakes etc etc.. have made a few of my models become suicidal, hence I C/A the wheels so that they can't turn without great force.

If your looking for working nuts and bolts try here http://www.scalehardware.com/

This is great stuff, I have a few packs I have used that just adds that extra detail.

Exactly what are you looking for? I'm having a hard time following your descriptions. Can you find a thread with pics that shows what you want?

Are we talking lug nuts? Central wheel locks? Something else? What kit are you building? Tamiya style wheels, Fujimi style wheels, something else? Always give all the information you can in a question.

It seems like we're all guessing here trying to figure out what you're looking for. I'm sure we can give you a good answer, but not until we really understand precisely what you're trying to do.

sounds central lock nuts to me because I can't see you using watch screws/bolts on a 1/24 hub.... although that does sound do-able...
