Hey RSX, I have an idea

I had an idea that you might be interrested in....

Why not get a dirt bike? Hold on, I know htis has been covered....

You can ride it for a few years in the dirt until you are able to get a street liscense. You will learn a lot.

Once you are able to ride on the street, you can turn the dirt bike into a Supermotard. At the moment, Supermotars are mostly a European thing, but they are starting to catch on in the US.

OK, you ask what is a Supermotard. Click these links...

Baiscaly, you take a dirt bike, add some street parts to make it legal, and go have some fun. A properly built supermotard will keep up if not leave behind a sport bike in the twisties.

Yu dont have to start with a 'big' motor dirt bike. Most supermotards I have seen have 250cc motors. That is more than enough motor to have fun.

Plus, the insurance on a supermotard would be cheap!!!! This is a definate plus.

Alright. Thanx. I was once interested in Supermotards, but I soon found out that they were only available in the places that you said, so I soon turned away from them. I am VERY interested in the CCM 644 Dual Sport Supermoto. I think that it's a very cool idea, and I would be willing to get started if they do indeed get started in the U.S. Just tell me when/if they do get started in the States and I'll be SURE to check it out. And about the dirtbikes, I'm thinking about that to, but like I said in another post, they just have too many limitations:( . But I might give it a try.

Just remember that you need to get a smaller CC dirtbike to keep you in control than you would on the street. My 500CC streetbike was small. My friend's 500CC dirtbike almost killed him... literally. And he is a stand-up wheelie, twisty-turning fiend on his r6, but that 500 dirtbike almost sent him right into a tree.

250CCs on a dirt bike is MORE than enough to start.

Alright. Thanx alot for the info. I appreciate your watching out for me also :D I'll be sure to look at power and everything first all of the time, and that's a pretty good story about your friend and all (It reminds me of what's important). Well, thanks again.:sun:

For dirtbikes, start out on a xr80 or cr125. NOTHING bigger, the powerband on sportsbike are much nastier then even my R1. A dirtbike could probably beat me off the line to about 60mph. So keep that in mind as well while you are contemplating your own death... errr. :p

Also when you start getting riding, remember these 2 facts forever.

Clutch = Best Friend
Gas = Worst Enemy
