Just got a cheap motor at a junkyard since it was a beater. The guy that did the swap said the oil pump was bad in it, but I don't see how that would'nt just lock the motor up not stall it. But i'm no mechanic. horse482 09-26-2007, 11:52 PM Welcome to AF. You need to start with a few basics, when it dies does it still have spark and fuel? Check to see if there is still power to the fuel pump when it stops running, if not then you may need to replace the fuel pump relay. acewelderman 09-27-2007, 08:08 PM Sounds like fuel pump relay.Had the same problem once.Good luck! darkest edge 09-28-2007, 01:45 AM Thank You :) Thanks for the information i will check it all and get back to you and tell u what i find out ^_^ darkest edge 09-29-2007, 04:12 PM Thank You :) Thanks for the information i will check it all and get back to you and tell u what i find out ^_^ now that i have bought the new fuel relay switch it does not show where it is located in the manual and i cant see it anywhere does anyone know where its located ? thanks for the help ^_^ darkest edge 09-29-2007, 07:37 PM ok i found where the fuel pump relay was located on the firewall on the passenger side under a cover marked on the outside cover but dusty an dirty so i could not see it till i cleaned it some ^_^. i replaced the fuel pump relay and this was NOT the problem.. does any one have any other thoughts or anyone that has had this problem ? i will check the fuel pressure and spark soon and get back to u about what i find this has been a puzzle to figure out.:banghead: Thanks to everyone for the help and thoughts on this problem :grinyes: darkest edge 10-03-2007, 06:35 PM ok found the problem i checked the fuel and the spark they both were ok hum then i went to the front of the motor after it quit again an disconected the heat temp sending unit then it started right up well this was the problem it was faulty and this was a 15 dollar part :( what a hassle but its been a puzzle thats been solved thanks everyone for the help ^_^ :grinyes: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
