I just purchased my xterra and am planing on upgrading the wheels and tires. I would like to put a set of cooper discovery stt 31" X 10.5, but i need new rims. The stock rims are 15x7 and i need some 15x8. But the promlem lies in clearence. Dose anyone know what the clearence is before a lifting it?
Also pro vs con of beadlock rims vs steel.

A 31x10.50 is no problem on the stock 15x7. An aftermarket one with 4+ inches of backspacing shouldn't be a problem either.

I need to know what size tires I can fit under my 02 terra..... I dont want to lift it all up in the air high but i would like to life it a little. I know i can tweak the torsion bars in the front but a guy told me a way to do it in the back too. With some type of aftermarket springs....
So the two questions i was asking was....
What is the springs he was talking about and with a 2in lift what size tires with a 16in stock rim
what size can i fit sitting stock?

Anyone know?

Stock or slightly lifted, a 265/75-16 will fit just fine, it's a 32x10.50. You don't need aftermarket springs, though if you bring the front end up with a torsion bar adjustment, you would probably want to bring the rear up a bit as well. This can be done with a set of add-a-leaves, or a set of lift shackles.

I think I have read all the tires posts and still need some basic advice/recommendations. Need new tires, currently have 30x9.5 tires on my 2000 Xterra. Want to go bigger, but do not want to deal with any type of lift, or adjusting the mudflaps. Is this possible or should I stick with the same size? Thanks!
