WIP: Tamiya Skyline R33KP60 09-24-2007, 08:21 AM Hi, my name is STEVE, this is another model I'm building. It will not have a lot of modifications... but of cource not out of the box... its the Tamiya Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R33) http://lh4.google.com/zervosst/RveqGfkTDLI/AAAAAAAAAKA/oYfXkZ4mf-E/s800/P1012827.JPG body with air wing glued on http://lh3.google.com/zervosst/RveqFPkTDKI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/7hDsqab3qhY/s400/P1012127.JPG some putty here http://lh5.google.com/zervosst/RveqJvkTDPI/AAAAAAAAAKg/WNaYvfYsrUI/s400/P1012834.JPG KevHw 09-24-2007, 03:15 PM Any thoughts on the body colour? KP60 09-24-2007, 04:56 PM YEP! tamiya pearl light blue (spray) (no its not in the manual - its not a stock color of r33) I'm not going for a stock version anyway so... I just saw it and I think it is a very nice color, but ... pictures will talk as for the wheels, I will not use the stock (again), I got the wheels from my BMW 320 kit and I'm going to make them "dip dish" and fit them on the skyline... here are the stock r33 wheels, and the wheels from the BMW kit (not yet modified) http://lh4.google.com/zervosst/RveqHfkTDMI/AAAAAAAAAKI/V_l2fkZJzcw/s800/P1012829.JPG http://lh4.google.com/zervosst/RveqIfkTDNI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/F1wijPwl9-U/s800/P1012830.JPG ATMDC 09-25-2007, 12:33 AM those wheels are gunna look good. you ever have problems spraying a body with the wing on? i always have trouble with it. KP60 09-25-2007, 03:17 AM oops, what do you mean?? maybe that it will not cover the part under the wing, or something??? well I hope not..... NO I havent done it before :banghead: we'll see, wont we??? as for the wheels, check this out: http://lh3.google.com/zervosst/RveqJPkTDOI/AAAAAAAAAKY/RUJFr-K5CUA/s800/P1012832.JPG Its just a TEST fitting. they are not glued or cut yet, just testing with the styrene Mister_S13_2 09-25-2007, 06:27 AM :D whels will look good, what colour will the wheels be? personally i reckon a charcoal inside, with a chrome/polished dish would look hot, but ill be whatchin this 1, :D KP60 09-25-2007, 07:11 AM exactly what I was thinking!!! (about wheel color..) KevHw 09-25-2007, 12:11 PM I'm interested to see how the Pearl Light Blue turns out on such a beast of a car. I'm still trying to decide which car would look good with that colour. Deepdish is looking great. deltableh 09-25-2007, 01:08 PM I've sprayed a few cars with wings already on them. Just gotta make sure you hit all the angles, and you'll get coverage. It helps to put the model on a stand on a table when you spray it, so you can crouch down and shoot upward to get the underside of the wing. If you can't do this, a cheap way to get around it is to mask off the sides and crossbar of the wing, spray the sides silver (eventually) or bodycolor if you want, and CF the crossbar. Wheels look very nice! Paint looks like it still needs work, but its a very sweet color on the R33! xpeed 11-29-2007, 04:55 PM I hate those damn bubbles! >_< I always get them for some reason. One time I did such an awesome paint job I was appalled, but my dad decided to water the fern and I placed the model near it to dry it. Water splattered all over the model before it was completely dry and now I got those nasty water spots. >_< fastdupree 12-02-2007, 07:41 PM Keep it up man. This baby is a nice kit when it is done. The R33 is one of my favorite Skylines. I built one myself which you can view on the Completed gallery. I will soon be building a Nismo 400R in red.
