I am trying to remove the left front control arm. (CRACKED AT BALL JOINT) Can not get the Torsion bar out of arm? Have unloaded bar and Control arm is free of frame.
What am I doing wrong? Chilton book no help!
Thanks!

I had a biatch of a time getting mine apart. I had to take out the arms, torsion bar mount and torsion bars out all as one. I used a lot of penetrating fluid and beat the living crap out of those to get 3 of 4 out. The last one I had to take out to a buddy to use his cutting torches to heat up cherry hot and then it finally came out. The torsion bar has to slide towards the front of the vehicle and the torsion bar keys will fall out. Well that's the idea, but it's a lot harder to do when it's welded together with rust.
