View Full Version : Cup Noodle Honda NSR250 Cup Noodle Honda NSR250 Ole_L 09-22-2007, 04:15 PM I picked out this older kit which will be a box stock build. Word of advice though... be careful with the exhaust cans... I managed to break one of mine in two places. Nothing that can't be fixed, but my kit seem very brittle. The engine was a lot of custom color mixing. It shows in general with many of these older kits where you're asked to mix a color that became a premixed color years later. An example is X-11 + X-12 which is X-31 http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/1.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/2.jpg The frame was painted TS-30 from the can. http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/3.jpg Next couple of pictures are just little bits and pieces. I also drilled out the rotor. Remember doing it by hand when I built the Repsol version, I put a #78 drill bit in my power drill and went to work.... much, much easier. http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/4.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/5.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/6.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/7.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/8.jpg I used TS-17 for the panels which are now ready for decals. http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/9.jpg More to follow.... ketje 09-22-2007, 10:33 PM looking great. Do you have a WIP of your Repsol 250? My wife is working on one right now. JB Ole_L 09-26-2007, 03:49 PM No, The Repsol 250 was finished years ago.... before I even knew what a WIP was. Here's a few more progress pics. http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/10.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/11.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/12.jpg http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/13.jpg ketje 09-27-2007, 01:11 AM Looking great Ole. Ole_L 11-04-2007, 05:59 PM This one is done... here's a final image: http://www.fontfreak.com/models/bikes/14061/14.jpg joelwideqvist 11-05-2007, 03:14 AM Great build as usual Ole, but aren´t the Cup Noodle Honda cowlings supposed to be golden instead of TS17 Silver? /Joel Ole_L 11-08-2007, 05:38 PM Great build as usual Ole, but arenīt the Cup Noodle Honda cowlings supposed to be golden instead of TS17 Silver? /Joel Thanks Joel.... Bike #3 was gold and #13 was silver. The Tamiya kit include both options. I built this one with two other modelers and they both went for the gold version, so I wanted to stand out. Tamiya's latest bike is another version of this one. Kit 14110. joelwideqvist 11-09-2007, 09:14 AM Aha, that sort my thoughts out. I've only seen the box and remember it was golden. I like the this sort of separation in between the bikes of a team. 250 was ahead of their time compared to 500/GP. Thanks again. Joel islero666 11-09-2007, 09:33 AM The two riders on that team, were brothers. Of that I am sure. But I think they only did one race together. Please correct me if I'm mistaken. islero sportracer02 11-10-2007, 02:01 AM A really nice detailed and built model - great !!
