Coolant Leaking Againa_alyte 09-21-2007, 05:31 PM '98 JGC I had this same issue back in '05, coolant leaking from passenger side. When I pop the hood the coolant can be seen puddling just below the drain plug on the radiator, but the drain plug is tight & dry. All hose clamps are tight. When the Jeep is turned off, the coolant drips off the front bumper causing the reservoir to get low after a couple weeks :banghead: . In '05 I replaced the rad, thermostat, water pump & hoses. It was good for a while but here I am again with the same issue. Anyone dealing/dealt with this? dell520 09-21-2007, 05:36 PM I am. I don't have any idea where the leak is, but it's very slow so I havn't put much time into it just because I plan on doing a swap soon when I put the electric fan in. Hope someone can help ya. Bob D. 09-24-2007, 04:22 AM Use a pressure tester to pressurize the radiator and look for the leak. dksob81 09-24-2007, 07:03 AM It is probably leaking from the seam where the radiator core and side tanks meet. I had this problem with a couple radiator along with the new one I just replaced back in march, getting ready to send it back for a new one under warranty a_alyte 09-26-2007, 02:10 AM If my leak is coming from the seam as you described, is there something that can be moved or bent out of the way when installing a new rad to prevent it from reoccurring? I don't know what you could do better other than be reasonably careful - when it's in the vehicle it takes a pretty good pounding. As dksob81 said, the side seams are where they usually leak, but I cant believe you guys are having such bad luck. Are they OEM or aftermarket? a_alyte 09-26-2007, 12:59 PM The 1st one I put in was OEM & the one leaking now is aftermarket. In my Jeep they seem to leak every 2 yrs. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
