1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V-8 and 93000 miles. After driving for 10 minutes, the oil pressure bottoms out and the "check gauges" light comes on while at a red light or stop sign or driving below 10mph. Regular driving and idling at 1500 rpm's while in neutral, the oil pressure goes back up to 40. Any idea what is causing this?? Thanks.

Install a test guage just to make sure you have an oil pressure problem and not a sender problem.

X-2 you need to find out if it is the sending unit or actually the oil pressure.
