Steering wheel questionmike561 09-19-2007, 01:02 AM I am thinking of getting one of those woodgrain finish steering wheels like the one pictured here, just so i know in advance, what tools are needed to remove the steering wheel, ive never really messed around with the steering colum yet. http://www.treo-engineering.com/graphics/installs/disturb/84cadillac03.jpg silicon212 09-19-2007, 01:28 AM You need a steering puller. I've used a harmonic balancer puller with good success as well. Blue Bowtie 09-19-2007, 08:12 AM A lock plate depressor might come in handy, since you may have to remove it to move the horn sounder button and/or turn signal cam. Some of the aftermarket wheels (like some Grants) don't line up like a factory installation. mike561 09-20-2007, 03:26 AM yeah i thought i would need a puller, just want to know what i'll be getting into before hand beat88ls 09-21-2007, 03:14 AM silicon212 09-21-2007, 03:34 AM Looks like a Grant kit. beat88ls 09-21-2007, 05:23 AM yeah, the wheel is made by grant. i bought it from ebay, paid $120 came with everything in the picture... i usually see these as buy it now for about $150 plus shipping BTW, that is not the exact one i bought SEVILLEMAN601 09-21-2007, 06:30 PM wow, that is a cool wheel. I want one for my 95 9c1 with the LT1. So, Grant wheels are the best? Do they have any that come with the shifter knob? Blue Bowtie 09-22-2007, 10:01 AM i bought one of these for my caprice... http://www.rpidesigns.com/images/st03.jpg See that little cast aluminum adapter? That may be what gets you into trouble with turn signal cancelling cam position. That may also be why you might need to dig deeper (under the lock plate) to modify the installation. wow, that is a cool wheel. I want one for my 95 9c1 with the LT1. I'm only a little curious about what you intend to do with the inflatable restraint/horn sounder pad from the original steering wheel installation. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
