M-Tuning 09-18-2007, 02:46 PM Wow, nicest american car i've see in 1:24 Dylza 09-18-2007, 04:08 PM Nice, it's not traditional but still classy looking. very badass. tigeraid 09-18-2007, 10:58 PM i appreciate it ... could it be that i'm the only one who gets a hard on over Challengers? Coincidentally, they're my LEAST favourite car from the muscle-car era. But I tend to be a guy who prefers the "boxier" 62-67 cars... ie. I prefer the '66 Charger to the 68-70, I prefer the '64-67 Chevelle to the 68-72, I prefer the 64-65 GTO to the 68-73, etc etc.. But to each his own. I can understand the appeal either way. And I really like how you terminated the hockey stripe in line with the c-pillar, that's a really neat look! cityofthesouth 09-19-2007, 09:39 AM Wow, nicest american car i've see in 1:24 that's a huge compliment to make cause there are people around here who cold smoke me in building skills. thanks just the same cause i'm pretty happy about this car. Nice, it's not traditional but still classy looking. very badass. nah, i don't really do traditional much. i'm all for modified cars. thanks. No one uses the term Pony car because they must think it diminishes the image of their Hemi engine or whatever but I really think it's more accurate for cars like Camaro, Cuda and Challenger, and the Mustang. Anyway, thanks for checkin it out even when it's not your fav. I know people tend to just look at what they like and skip the rest. tigeraid 09-19-2007, 01:28 PM On the subject of Pony vs Musclecar... I like to think of it as small block and big block, in that case. Pony Cars as a class were "created" to compete in the Trans-Am series. They are, by nature, road racers. They're small, near-compact 2 door coupes with a functional back seat, a V8 and RWD, designed for a BALANCE of handling and straightline performance. As a result, your 64-73 Mustang with a smallblock is a pony car, as is a 69+ Camaro and Firebird, as is a 64+ 'Cuda or Valiant, as well as the 67-69 Cougar, and I suppose a Javelin as well. And the Challenger T/A and AAR 'Cuda. But when you put bigblock in any of these cars, the whole package really changes to a drag car. Ever driven a big block Camaro? I've never driven a COPO or a ZL1, but I have driven an SS396, and it handled like GARBAGE compared to a Z/28. That to me is the distinction. I'd call those musclecars. Just my :2cents: :p modeltech 09-19-2007, 09:47 PM ohhhhhhh, oooooohhhhhhhh!!! i love it looks great and keep building what you like!! we have alot of the same tastes!!!! this is the way i would have built it as well!!! cityofthesouth 09-20-2007, 10:33 AM On the subject of Pony vs Musclecar... Just my :2cents: :p no i'd agree. since two cars with the same body could, by many people's def, fall into both categories, it's pretty hard to really take a side for me and I don't care to anyway. if you're of the crowd who sees the GTO as the first, then i think those cars - pre 65/66ish - are sort of a different muscle car. the idea of taking a light, not exactly sporty car and give it lots of straight line power under a new name or package, is sort of the original muscle car idea. Then again, if you consider that many big blocks are on the road course with this Pro-Touring era we're in now things get even more tricky ... but at the time they were new this wasn't the case. I'm not old enough to be a part of it and so i don't have that "frame of reference" or whatever ... personally speaking, i'm not a really big drag racing fan and i see more benefits in a small block for that reason. I guess all that combined gives me a skewed outlook on muscle cars ... add in an artistic side and this Challenger represents me pretty well. 1sickbimmer 02-15-2008, 10:30 AM Now I Have To Say That Is Sick cityofthesouth 02-15-2008, 04:51 PM Now I Have To Say That Is Sick thanks dude .. the finished thread is in my sig.
