So It's there's most likely another thread to this but. I have a 91 escort wagon, I replaced it with a JCM..whatever, all the speakers work, the radio turns on. Only problem is, the memory doesnt work. I've attached the memory wire to about everything. The only way the radio works is if I put both the constant and the switched radio wires...to the cars switched wires. And mayhaps.. I dont know if it's possible that the wire fried?

As you have mentioned the back of your new radio has an Always hot wire and a Switched hot wire. Every radio maker calls them something different. One might say battery the other Ign.or Switch. On your car you should also have an Always hot wire and a wire that is hot with the key on, this would be switched power. Always hot is the memory wire, switched is what opperates the radio. You need to use a test light to find out which is which, if they are not labeled. If you were guessing, you may have blown a fuse making it real hard to find that hot wire. Check them.
If you can only find an Always Hot wire, you can put both radio wires on it. The downside is you will always have to turn the radio off when you leave the car. The upside is you will not need the key to turn the radio on and you will keep your memory. If you do this and your memory still doesn't stay, your radio is broken, but make sure that the wire you hook the memory wire to is always hot no matter the key position.
Hope this helps.

the wire you connected to constant 12V probably has a blown fuse

Alright, So i got a check light and did all the wires, none are active when the car is turned off, when on, its all good. The radios not the problem, it has complete memory circut, the cars fuse is good.. But should the interior lamp be switching on and off when I'm taking power supply wires off and on.. just asking.

if you couldn't find a wire that is 12V all the time, then you don't have the right wire or the fuse is blown
