Thinking about buying a 94 4wd Loyale wagon

I just sold my totally unreliable 93 diesel Jetta tonight. What a piece of work that was..The body was rotted, front suspension is beat to death, exhaust is in pieces, clutch is worn, heater core is broke, crank pulley is wobbly (it's the AAZ engine). The car was pretty much worthless and I sold it for 400 bucks. I looked at a 94 4wd Loyale wagon down the road and I think I might go for it. It's only on it's 2nd owner and has 190200 kilometers on it. The tires on it are nearly new, they'll easily get me through the winter. It's been sitting for a few years and needs exhaust work and some body work, rocker panels and a few spots near the spare tire well. The guy who has the car now has a boatload of spare parts for it, the entire ignition system, ECU's, gas tank, entire exhaust, alternator, sensors, original radio, etc. The guy is selling it for 500 firm, but he said he'd sell it to me for 450. It's not registered or inspected right now. Is it worth it? That 4wd would sure come in handy in the winter.

Just from personal experience heres A couple of things you could look into.
1. does the car run in its current state or do you have to install all the extra parts that he has for it.
2.Will it actually drive once running.
3.just how many years has the car been sitting there. If they left fuel in the car you might have to look into draining the gas tank, dropping it, flushing it out with a couple of gallons of acetone. Replacing the fuel filter. Possibly having the fuel injectors cleaned out.

Id have to say if you dont mind doing some work and spending a little money then it would be a good car. I purchased an 89 subaru xt6 for 700. i became the 2nd owner of the car. it sat for almost ten years with fuel in the tank and lines and varnished everything over nicely. after purchasing a new fuel pump since the old one was ceased, and the rest of the fuel and ignition systems replaced as a tune up. i found out that the clutch was out. but with the awd it has makes it well worth it in the snow. it handles great and is a lot of fun to mess around with.

if u want it go for it...

I don't know, I keep recommending this over the years but I'd look on cars.com, and depending where you live you might find a newer one for not too much more.
Check it out...
