tranny solenoid in 02 interpid wierd

ok i have all the info i think i might need to change that dang solenoid pack.
its my wifes car so i dont really drive it that much but tonite we went to town and i drove.
the strange thing about the solenoid is i found if i keep my foot on the gas alittle it will not do the shift down and stick in first. its works just fine if you keep alittle throttle on it.
i have an opinion its because the extra throttle is moving the fluid in the tranny alittle faster and letting the solenoid work properly by keeping the pressure alittle higher. i might be wrong but for all the others out there that have this problem try it and see if it helps you out as well at least until you can get the solenoid and have it fixed.
if anyone out there can give a better reason for this making the tranny work right i would love to hear ????
