This morning, my son couldn't shift the selector out of park, so he forced the lever without pushing the selector override release button on the console. Being a high school varsity football player, he got it to move. Now the selector moves to any position without pressing the button on the shift lever and the key is stuck in the ignition.
So my first problem is to fix the selector postion interlock so the lever can't be accidently bumped into Park or Reverse.
Second, I need to get the key out of the ignition -- obviously related to the first issue.
Finally, I need to find out why he couldn't get it out of Park in the first place.
