95 honda civic ex : ive been having trouble with my front tires wearing uneven. ive had these things fixed already-
the drivers side> inner tie rod end,
lower control arm bushing & lower strut mount bushing
passanger side> inner & outer tie rod & strut bushing
I bought new tires and noticed that they are starting to wear. this guy jacked up my car & kinda jiggled my suspension and said i needed new ball joints/control arm.

my question now is he wants to replace the driver side lower conrtrol arm bushing and the passenger side lower control arm complete with bushing and ball joint. couldnt he just replace the ball joints and bushing on the lower control arms on both sides?
or what do you suggest? please and thank you julie

on most hondas the upper ball joint cannot be replaced you have to buy the upper control arm but on the lower control arm the balljoint can be replaced but if u look at it the price of a lower control arm will cost you as much as it is to take the ball joint and have it pressed out buy the new ball joint and have the new ball joint pressed back in so either way you will pay the same.. to take the ball joint out u need a special machine. to do it the right way.. but if you know someone that can remove the loweer control arm then you will save on labor.. and if you dont replace bushing then you will have to replace ball joint because bushing keeps grease in side ball joint

so if i buy the lower control arm the ball joint & bushings are already incorporated into the part?

above are some links as to how much you should spend and what path you decide to take and do the repairs.. the first two links are ball joints and the third link is the ball joint bushings
the fourth link is prices for all control arms available for your car just look at the sub-caption and it will tell you which side it is referring to but when you look you might have to change the zip code to your zip code so you can get your prices for your area.. but like i said the ball joint comes with bushing so you do not have to replace lower control arm it will cost more to replace lower arm then to replace ball joint or bushing..
