Well Ive been cruising the forums alot and it got me in the mood. After 2 hours searching for my paints and 20 min of reviving my dried up brushes I got started on one of the 3-6 models I got this spring.
I'm no pro like most of you yet I have been do'n models for like 15 years+ lol.

This will also probably be the first model I paint with my shiny new Testors Mighty Mini airbrush. Most likely it will come out horrid but hey my spraypainting wasnt too good either lol.

/\ +1, but use cheap paint, as water doesn't act the same as paint.
ditch the cheap plastic brushes and spend a couple bucks on some sable brushes, or camel hair.

Problem is there is no hobby shops around here. Used to be one just down the road and they closed down this spring. They said I was really thier only customer.
Its bad enough the local Wal-mart only really carrys snap ons and a small small selection of paint and plastic brushes.

You painted that engine with PAINT MARKERS? Wow, can't believe it turned out so well, maybe I need to start using those for some parts... :icon16:

Yep. I love them for detailing and engines. I just wish they made them with smaller tips. I was also feel'n a bit lazy lol.

I use paint markers all the time. they work great for small parts, and some finer details. I usually use a silver paint pen by getting it "damp" with paint, and then wipe off the excess with a lint free paper/cloth towel, and it's great for drybrushing various raised details, if they are pretty tall, like valve cover fins, and "billet" grills, etc.
