:banghead: I have a 1985 siverado that overheats after about 10-15 min. of operation. I have changed the radiator, waterpump, thermostat, heater hoses, heatercore, top radiator hose, and the cooling fan. It still does the same thing. The engine doesn't loose any coolant and doesn't have any leaks. The lower radiator hose looks good ,but should I still change it also. I'm sort of lost on this one .

Have it pressure checked to see if it holds pressure. Also, you said you replaced the fan, did you replace the fan clutch? Make sure the fan is actually moving air. Otherwards, you must have some blockage in there somewhere and it needs to be flushed with some pressure.

When did this start happening? Has it always done this? Does it only overheat in slow traffic? Is it ok going down the road @ 50+ mph?

it overheats whether i'm driving or if it's running idle. the top and bottom radiator hoses get very hard as if their about to pop. whenever i switch it off it won't start. how do you flush the system with pressure ?

i replaced the clutch fan with a flex fan .also this motor has a serpentine setup off of a 1989 caprice. we had this motor in the caprice but it never ran hot before. when we swapped the motor and hooked up to this truck we ran into this problem. the only thing that we changed was the transmission. could the transmission be the problem?

CHECK, your head gasket?

Yep, time for a leak down test.
