Menu dei Motori 11-24-2002, 06:43 AM can´t find it on a map jsb88 11-26-2002, 09:56 AM sorry it is off the page. :) Menu dei Motori 11-26-2002, 10:41 AM back to mclaren f1 how may were made? how many do still exist? jsb88 11-27-2002, 06:57 AM 200 and something, and only a couple have been written off. :) S Brake 11-27-2002, 07:11 AM Only 100 were made and as far as I know, only 2 have been damaged beyond repair. jsb88 11-27-2002, 08:05 AM I thought there were more than that... maybe 100 of the road type. Menu dei Motori 11-27-2002, 10:07 AM *headache* had a accident with my z3 i´m feeling so bad now... jsb88 11-27-2002, 10:25 AM what happened? :( :( :( faisalkhan 11-27-2002, 11:50 AM No offence, but how is this related to the McLaren F1? faisalkhan 11-27-2002, 03:33 PM Exactly 100 cars have been produced. 64 road cars 28 GTR (for racing) 5 GT (long tails) 3 GT LM (roadgoing longtail cars) Several of the 64 road cars have been converted to the high downforce package (fixed rear wing, extra cooling for the brakes, etc.) which makes them look like GTRs from the outside. While several have been involved in accidents, only one has been completely written off. That's the one Chris Dawes killed himself and two others in. It hydroplaned and hit a tree and flipped over and the fuel leaked onto the exhaust manifold, burning it to the ground. The factory has 4 cars: A silver roadcar that is on permanent display at their Park Lane showroom A green GT LM at the factory, destined for their museum A silver and black demo car that is for sale A green car (K8 MCL) that was used to set the records and has about 40,000 km on the clock. So there's 95 cars out there. But a few are in private collections and will never be sold. So there's less than 95 in "circulation" and while most were in Europe, more and more are finding their way into the US after Show and Display rules allow them to be imported without modifications except to the exhaust system so that they meet EPA emissions regulations. jsb88 11-28-2002, 04:49 AM interesting, thank you. All those pictures you see of a black car are the record holding cars then, as I remember the number plate. :) Menu dei Motori 11-28-2002, 07:06 AM mr bean had a mclaren right? but i think he crashed it... well... some oil was on the street when i got off the "autobahn" and hm i hit the crash barrier and went over a curbstone :( 11000$ damage and i won´t have a car for 2 weeks now:( but i´m fine again jsb88 11-28-2002, 08:43 AM are you sueing the spiller of oil, or the government? Mr Bean was indeed the man who wrote off the Mclaren... i am pretty sure it was written off anyway. Menu dei Motori 11-28-2002, 11:21 AM well there was some oil on the street not coming from my car... the funny thing is my friend has a z3 3,0 with chip tunig.. about 270 ps... he got there 10 min later and nearly the same happened to him... just some scratches... not a good day for z3 drivers :( faisalkhan 11-28-2002, 01:02 PM Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) rear-ended a Mini and had extensive damage to his front end. But it was fixed. The McLaren is so expensive and so exclusive that most owners opt to fix them, even when there is extensive damage. Chris Dawes' car is the only one I am aware of that has been written off. The black car that holds the records is dark green. It may jus tappear black in photographs, or it may actually have been painted black to begin with, but it is currently dark green. Menu dei Motori 11-28-2002, 01:09 PM thanks for the info of mr bean:flash: carbuilder2002 07-09-2006, 11:25 AM I'm from england but believe Ameritech had to do the mods because the Mac has no side airbags so had to remove the passenger seats in order to import them and make them road legal, as with the other mods. Usually customers returned the cars to original spec as soom as they were licensed. carbuilder2002 SebM44 07-09-2006, 11:59 AM anybody got a website, email or phone number for ameritech?
