Well umm... what can I say:

There's no accounting for taste? :uhoh:

Well, it's not my style certainly, but to each his own, and I was commissioned to build it, so here we go. It's a near-stock LT1 Z28 (mechanically) with about eleventy billion dollars worth of stereo equipment, and the ricer body kit is from Wings West, I believe. I'm scratch-building all of that out of strip styrene--slowly but surely I think I can pull this off.

Just a few early pics roughing up the body work.

Hmm, that is...unique. I don't really care for the bulbous headlights; how do you plan to replicate those?

Autozone Special! I don't know how you do it, I'd be hard pressed to push my abilities for something funky that I didn't like. I guess it takes a tougher modeler to build for commission, I know I'd lose heart in a week. Good luck!

Umm interestin is right. Not really my style. Goodluck with this one. Just a thought for you..the spoiler is similar to the 98 ram air firebird isnt it...you may be able to use that one as a guide for your scratch built one????

Nah, not even close, that spoiler is way taller than either the Firebird or Camaro. The only one that'd come close is the spoiler that's popular on Supras. Speaking of which, anyone have a spare one? :p

Odd... other than the hood, lights , and rims it looks stock to me. Even the body kit. My friends 95 Z28 has the same wing and bodykit on it fromt he factory.

If it wasnt for the lights and the scary paint it would not look half bad for a 4th gen.

Edit.

Was comparing and the wing might be a hair bigger than the one on my friends.

Also is it just me or is the yellow paint all different shades?

Had to be some sort of dealer-installed wing then, that is NOT a normal Camaro wing at all--and that one's a Wings West body kit.

I believe the RS option on the 4th gen had side-skirts like that.

Well, got the groundwork laid for the body kit anyway, and the hood is roughed up, just need to putty some bumps and holes in it. Going well so far.

I think it came out very nice also. Looking forward to the rest of the bodywork you will be doing.

Finished the rough work on the front air dam and the rear spoiler. Front air dam was strip styrene bent into shape, with the holes cut out for the brake ducts, then square styrene stock slid in at an angle. I then filled it in with putty and shaped it with a round rat-tail file. Just need to smooth it all out of course. The spoiler, I realized after lookin at it, is basically just the stock spoiler, only taller. So I simply added height to the uprights and smoothed it out. I think I need to thin the uprights a little first, and still some putty work to do... but the basic idea's done.

Bodywork complete, shot with Tamiya Yellow. Not shined up yet.

Also got the interior done, with semi-gloss black and Sharpie yellow highlights. Final assembly soon.

Wow the body looks pretty good, nice execution on the hood. Paint really looks nice. The yellow inserts seem not realistic, i would stay away from that sharpie. Overall nice work, keep us updated.

I was thinking of touching the yellow up with some paint, the sharpie just wasn't good at covering some of the little blemishes.
