I decided to start it off by painting this car ts-45 pearl white. tamiya sprays are awesome, its one of my first trys using them and now im sticking with it. they polish out real easy too! heres what I have done so far, ive been trying to do a little here and there in between work in school. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01496.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01505.jpg its really hard to get this color to show on camera, but i think it looks good. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01543.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01544.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01539.jpg getting ready to paint the interior. thanks! btw, if you notice the mr2 in the background, its almost done, i'll have a completed thread soon MidMazar 09-04-2007, 11:29 PM No problem, the paint looks great. Keep us posted. ATMDC 09-07-2007, 07:56 PM got some interior work done , not glude together yet or finished though. just a mock up so far http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/DSC01545.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/DSC01547.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/DSC01548.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01550.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01551.jpg MidMazar 09-07-2007, 08:05 PM Sweet at first i thought the blue was painted, looks great with the blue two tone! 924_CarreraGTS 09-07-2007, 11:47 PM So is this a rally car that you are making into a street version? That is really cool. Alex ATMDC 09-08-2007, 04:46 PM yea im going to e leaving out all of the rally stuff, so it looks like a street car that also does some track time ATMDC 09-24-2007, 06:45 AM new update! finally... i decided to do a panty hose carbon fiber hood since i was short on carbon decals. I think I actually like this method better though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01565.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/atmdc/subaru%20sti/DSC01564.jpg KP60 09-24-2007, 09:45 AM very nice job! pearl white is awsome! also very good interior is the body polished? how did you make the carbon hood?? ATMDC 09-24-2007, 01:11 PM yeah body is already polished, i just did the hood after wards so the hood is not polished yet. I painted the hood using gloss black, light gun metal, and some panty hose. then i clear coated it. MidMazar 09-24-2007, 03:32 PM If i was you i would cf the vents on the hood also. The panty hose cf came out excellent, i have to try that method. It porobably works good on complex curves and irregular parts. 924_CarreraGTS 09-24-2007, 06:08 PM You sprayed the black, then covered with pantyhose and sprayed the gunmetal, right? Or was it the other way around? I plan to use this method for the large undertrays of DTM/Le Mans cars to save decals. Alex ATMDC 09-25-2007, 12:35 AM yup sprayed the black first and then the gun metal. I like the vents to be body color, youll see where its going when im all done :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
