strange smell2broke 11-20-2002, 05:21 PM Hmmm can anyone help me if they had this problem or am I losing my mind. Sometimes when i turn my AC on my 92z I start to smell gasoline. I believe I'm not suppose to smell gasoline when i turn on the AC. Fortunalely this doesn't happen all the time. It mostly happens in the morning when I start my car. Am I messing around with the ac buttons and I have no idea what I'm doing or is it something worst. Give me your opinion apaulkalipz 11-21-2002, 04:41 PM hey dude. i got a 91Z and got the same problem. check out www.twinturbo.net . i think i read somewhere that it has something to do with the fuel damper. my Z is just chillin on jackstands right now, awaiting an engine rebuild, so i'm not driving it now. the smell get's worst when you put on the heater during the winter. i suggest you should look into that soon before something get's worst. if you find out the problem, gimme a holla. i'd like to fix mine, too. paul 2broke 01-18-2003, 07:51 PM The reason why their is fuel smell is because I have leak in my fuel hose. My car gets hotter then normal cuz now I need a new water pump. I also need new struts, tension rods, and return hoses. This what the Nissan dealership quoted me with labor fuel hose:$184.80 water pump:$1,340.85 struts:$945.52 tension rods:$373.34 return hoses:$194.99 Talk about I'm probably insane or just love my car so much to pay for all of this. I think i'm going to a private garage to get things done or try to do it on my own. DemonZX 01-20-2003, 12:59 PM Hey they are screwing you right in your bunghole.....$1300 for a g@*damn waterpump! Go to a shop, or something else! Get more estimates! QUICK! I got my waterpump and timing belt all change out for $600 at a local shop. 2broke 01-21-2003, 04:17 AM Yeah I got a better deal with a private garage rather then the dealership. Water pump and all my belts replaced for 650. Next thing to do is get a new fuel hose. Does anybody no what is a good one or how much it should cost to get done or do it myself. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
