Hi everyone. I am looking to purchase myself a Nissan Xterra. So I have put this poll together to see what the majority of readers think about owning an Xterra. Also for those who want to elaborate, I would like to read your input about your experience owning an Xterra. I am struggling between the body style of 2000-2001 VERSUS 2002-2004 and Automatic VERSUS 5 speed.

The 2000-1's have durasteel which is more rust resistant than the later models. Personally I don't like the round eye versions. The 2000-1's also seem to have less issues IMO. Just check for cracked exhaust manifolds.

As for the auto vs manual debate, it all depends on what kind of driving you are going to do and what you are most comfortable with. I wheel with a bunch of guys, half swear by autos, the other half (me included) swear by manual. Look at your driving habits, decide that way. Best advice I can give on that subject.
