W.I.P BN Sports RX-7 FC35 (mister_S13 returns to AF)Mister_S13_2 09-03-2007, 09:57 AM hey! its been a while since ive been here, i stopped posting about 6 months ago due to a few issues, and when i returned i couldnt log in, and when password was requested i never received the email, none the les, I am now "mister_S13_2" annyway, this is my first model in a long time, it is an Aoshima RX-7 FC kit, with a BN sports bodykit:naughty: ...minus the hood and spoiler which I do not have. The car has been painted, it is candy red, I painted the car in Tamiya Gold, then dust coated it with Translucent pink/gold(tamiya) then used a metal anodise imitation paint I picked up from repco over the top, im very happy with the result as in bright light it goes a red/pink, but in the shadow its almost burgundy. I havent decided on the wheels yet, but this kit is just to get me back into "the swing" of thingsrunaround , so it will be pretty basic, doesnt mean we dont try though does it?:grinno: any suggestions are more than welcome, since i would like to finish this, and enter a local comp in bout a month,so it needs to please the majority:smokin: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/<a href= http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l277/The_St_jimmy/RX7006.jpg it appears that these pics will not be visable atm, but we shall see once i post this Mister_S13_2 09-03-2007, 10:02 AM at least i can give u a link 2 try http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l277/The_St_jimmy/RX7008.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l277/The_St_jimmy/RX7006.jpg white_R34 09-03-2007, 04:02 PM hello there I like the BN sports drift car there to me the only drift car's that don't look like drift cars, they look more like street cars. Here are some of the S13's I'm going to do when I get othere projects done. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t248/White_r34/Reference%20Photos/BNSports_ps13blue1.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t248/White_r34/Reference%20Photos/BNSports_ps13blue2.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t248/White_r34/Reference%20Photos/BNSports_S13gold1.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t248/White_r34/Reference%20Photos/BNSports_S13gold2.jpg You know I have a idea on how to make your gold decals look just like the real ones do on the 1:1 car. 1. You'll need some Gold bear metal foil. 2. an X-acto or just your hobby knife. 3. Sharpie Ultra fine point Now all you need is to cut out the gold parts or patterns, then take all the gold parts and put them over the gold foil Draw around each one. Now use your knife and cut out all the shapes one by one and put them on the car for that Real look. This works on Kazama's S15 to. rsxse240 09-04-2007, 03:13 AM Fantastic idea, white_r34, I'll have to steal that idea for a special build of a Hurst Olds 442 I've got in the works. Mister_S13_2 09-04-2007, 05:30 AM :O those S13's are so hot!! particularly the blue 1!!! i thinks im in love, lol, beautiful cars, S13's :D and that sounds like a good idea have 2 try that 1! rod_k2 09-04-2007, 06:57 AM weeeeeeeeeeeeee!! So glad that you are back!! Holy damn, that paint looks AWESOME!!! Great work so far!! PS: The guy next door had one of those... At least, the bodykit looks like this one... Mister_S13_2 09-04-2007, 07:54 AM heres a quick update, ive been working on the interior a bit, and ive chosen the wheels to be used, im not too sure what they are, they are Aoshimas, and you get them with the aoshima S13 kit(with engine detail), they look exactly like the Aoshima Work GT-V's though, they have been painted gloss black, and contrast with the red nicely, the interior is boring, just black and grey, which is how i like it, more of a street car, than all those show cars with colours like orange, and green seats etc, in these pics, the wheels are sitting on the brake hubs, so that is the final ride height, altohugh the front bar is only blue-tacced on http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l277/The_St_jimmy/RX-7005.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l277/The_St_jimmy/RX-7002.jpg http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l277/The_St_jimmy/RX-7004.jpg Mister_S13_2 09-04-2007, 08:46 AM oh yeh, im about to o and polish the body using tamiya polishing compound(finish), but is there anythin i should do before hand to get a better result? a friend of mine sudjested using automotive cut and polish, but im not 2 sure about that so i thought i would ask drunken monkey 09-04-2007, 10:42 AM just so you know, i tried to edit your links to be [img] but that don't seem to work. you might want to think about using a different place to upload/store/share your photos. rsxse240 09-04-2007, 12:09 PM see if that works http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l277/The_St_jimmy/RX-7005.jpg yep. Here's how you do it folks. DON'T copy the img code from photobucket, the tags are wrong. don't right click the image, the url is wrong. DO left click the "direct link" bar, because on photobucket, as soon as you click any of the link bars, it automatically copies like you right clicked and copied. so now you have the direct link copied. Bring it here, click the little box above the reply box that looks like a couple of mountains with a red sun and yellow sky, paste your url there by right clicking and pasting, and then hit OK. that's all there is to it. have fun. oh yeah, that FC looks really nice Mister_S13_2 09-04-2007, 02:44 PM haa haas! awsum! thanks, the tags from photobucket used 2 work for me, but hmmm, oh well, thanks :D, oh and im glad u like it  Risko 09-04-2007, 04:19 PM Wow, that BNSp. S13 is my most favourite ever! Hope to show one here soon:grinyes: Your FC looks great with the drift colour :) I like it! Mister_S13_2 09-05-2007, 07:00 AM thanks every1 for the replys :D im glad 2 see that people are liking how its going so far, atm, im working on a rear strut brace and wires for the N2O bottle(which im not sure if i should put in, since its a bit of a "tosser" thing. and I have a monster tacho I might put in, but once again im not sure, im also making seat belts, but not a race harness, black road ones, to go with the "street-come-occasional-track" car look,.and a special thanks to RSXSE240 for changing my crappy URL's to actual visible pics! ill make sure to do that from now on, and thank you drunken_monkey" for giving it a go 2 :D Mister_S13_2 09-06-2007, 12:14 PM hey, just a quick update, nothing groundbreaking, no pics, nut Ive decided tomake it "lazy eye" for the drift look, exhaust is open for discussion peope, i have 2 available here, a normal chrome cannon, or a typical race rotary exhaust, it has a large chrome muffler(round) and the actual tip dumps downwards at, about a 60 degree andle, im thinking that 1 would look better, also, should the car be vinyled? i have 2 "www.bnsports.co.jp" decals, that are the perfect length for the sideskirts, they are just a gold outline of the letters, what do you think?since its a bn sports kit, i tohught that would be appropriate, i asked my dad, and he thinks it would look better with no stickers at all, then agagin, he also tohught it would look better in dark metallic blue,...i think i like this red a little better, as does every1 else ive spoken to.anyway, pleasee give your opinions, any ideas/suggestions are more than welcome, as you will prob come up with something i havent tohught of,anyway, talk to you soon! MR.BEIMER 09-07-2007, 03:35 AM Cool work :grinyes: Great couler bro hahaha lolls:wink: well i gotta get back to work  rsxse240 09-07-2007, 10:42 AM PROPERLY applied decals would look good, but if you only have one decal that is large, and not enough to cover other areas, I'd say leave them off. I do think it needs some decals, but tasteful ones. If the decal you are talking about is small enough to fit on the side skirt, and not protrude up onto the door, or body, then I'd say go for it. If you decide to use other decals, I'd stay with the gold theme. Mister_S13_2 09-08-2007, 09:39 AM I like ur thinking, ok, ill put them on, they dont protrude up the door or anything,, thanks for ur opinion :P AllAlone.Gz 09-13-2007, 04:21 AM Oh wow. Nice too see you're back. It's been a while. The kit it looking great! So, if you don't mind me asking, what ever happened to that s13 you were working on before you "suddenly dissapeared?" Mister_S13_2 09-13-2007, 06:29 AM lol, i dont mind u asking, that whole project just stopped for some reason, i should prob start it up again, i prob will, it hasnt prgressed since u last saw it,lol, this RX-7 is actually in the same paint as the S13.lol AllAlone.Gz 09-13-2007, 06:38 AM Hahahahaha. I know what you mean. My s13 is in the pile, waiting to be completed. It just stopped cuz I needed to get started on my Group builds and comp. builds. Your kit is looking really good though! Mister_S13_2 09-13-2007, 08:25 AM haa haa! yeh, this was origanally gunna be for a rotary comp in a bout a month at my local model shop, but i dont think its quite show quality, so im gunna skip the rotary meet, and get going on my next WIP soon, i have my sights set on a Toyota GT-1 TSO20(tamiya) but only once i finish this one, im doin em 1 at a time at the moment, im sick of having WIPS build up! AllAlone.Gz 09-14-2007, 03:31 AM Hahahaha. I know what you mean. At first I started with my s13. Then I started the AE86. Then I had the EG6 and a DC2 Integra that I was barely finishing off. Then I got into the AF Ferrari Group build and the InfiniteModelWorld comp. So I have atleast 6 to 7 builds going on. For this reason, I'm afraid to buy more kits Mister_S13_2 09-14-2007, 06:10 AM so true, but icant help it!! i saw a TA22 hasegawa kit yesterday, and had to mentally restrain myself form bying it, it hurt so much :( heartbroken* Mister_S13_2 09-29-2007, 04:24 AM this one is finished now! this the link to the completed car: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=755461 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
