stalls in gear

96 cav starts and runs fine in park or neutral, dies immediately when put into gear. any suggestions

Does it die in gear if the front end is raised and supported? If not, try applying the brake to see if it kills the engine

didn't try, after further reading decided to try unpluggging TCC selenoid, that worked and when plugged back in all was fine. assuming TCC is going bad, though tranny was 1 qt low on fluid(my daughters car) so don't know if that was cause of selenoid to stick

...Or you could unplug the TCC solenoid. That's what you were going to check with the front end raised.
